I can see what he means - it's always a bit soul-destroying when homegrown talent leaves, particularly in recent seasons when you know some untested continental is going to be fleshing out the squad.

It would've looked better had he come out with such things 6 months down the line. At this stage, it does smell of sour grapes.

As for comparing Arsenal to Liverpool. I wasn't. But then, Arsenal never had the sense of history that was passed from old to younger players like Liverpool.

i wasn't comparing. I just feel he is right stating that losing too many players like that contributes to the loss of spirit in the club. The pride of playing in a pool shirt, the pride of stepping out at Anfield to perform for the kop.

I read Murphy's comments on Soccernet where he mentions Ruddock.

Nothing but a bitter parting shot. As for Fowler comments what rubbish, what had he done in the 2 previous seasons before he left? A: As much as he has done since, nowt. We do need a nucleus of English players I agree - but they have to be quality (Danny was not) and committed (Owen is not). If no suitable English players are available then Rafa has to purchase what he believes is the best bet for Liverpool.

The brutal truth is during Dannys time we underachieved and if we win the premiership with 11 foreigners its LFC premiership champions and thats what we want.

Its sad to see someone go who was part of the team and localish but the BOSS didnt see him here long term.

Dissapointed with the parting shot still wish him luck and hope he does well bt this is a new era

I wonder what he means by "camaraderie"

Team spirit on the pitch
or
Team spirit on the Pi55
