Move for ledley king?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

What would people think about a move for Ledley King. Seems a good solid defender but with Sami and Carra would he be able to break into one of the CB positions? Like ive mentioned before, the board were apparently prepared to back Benitez in a £11million bid for him but his looking to Spain for reinforcemnts. Suppose it makes sense, as British players have inflated prices IMO.

yeah, king is good but wouldnt go anywhere near 11 million for him.
waste of money for that price when we ciould go elsewhere and get someone for half that at least

I like him, he'd be a great signing.  He's definite international class and will be a monster when he hits his peak in a few years.  Been a bit inconsistent this season but saying that, he does play for Tottenham.

Playing in a good team, he could be one of the strongest playes in your side if you had him.

On the subject of CBs does anyone know of the progress of Zak Whitbread. He seemed a great prospect in the Carling cup earlier rounds.

So we have been linked with so many CBs recently. O'Shea, Milito, Upson, and now Ledley King??

Ledley King would be a big prospect for this club.He would make Hyppia work for his place. In about 2 years him and Carra will be at the heart of defence. We will have the greatest defence in England. If we do get him.Arsenal got rejected by him hahaha :p

He would be a top signing but unfortunately, Spurs appear to be a side going places at the moment and it's unlikely we'd be able to prise him away. If we can get our act together next season we should become once again fully paid-up members of the Prem top-four club and I think Spurs are most likely to take over the traditional Newcastle mantle of dangerous potential gatecrashers.

i get the feeling rafa isnt the type of manager that goes for the massive high profile signings, rather he finds a player that will suit his system and not neccesarily the other way round. i think he`s probably more akin to wenger in the transfer market than say ferguson who`s broke the bank at monte carlo a few times for the likes of veron, van nistelrooy, ferdinand and rooney.

Milito would be cheaper and probably has more potential.

Being English, he would command an astronomical transfer fee. Not worth it.

agree there azriah, he is a very good centre half, but tottenahm would chaghe some exuberant feeeof over 10, perhaps 15 million pounds, and as good as he may be, he isn't worth that much.

Sami is still an excellent centre-half, and Carra, well he's just amazing. Add someone like Milito, who we are being linked with, and Traore can play their as well if needed, thne we have a pretty decent bunch of centre-halfs there.

Of course King is good but I think Tot will not let him go because he could command an even bigger fees next year when he become more accomplished. So, getting him would be impossible this year unless you want to way over pay for his service.
