How can you be so old yet so fecking naive and ignorant Nanny.

I bet you were grateful for all the the money Moores pumped into the club. The guy made one mistake but who's to say selling to DIC wouldn't have been a worse mistake, now maybe we will finally know.

Of course he couldn't come out in support of the fans against the owners don't be ridiculous, how would that have worked?  :no  :no

Put it this way Moore's and his family have contributed a hell of a lot more to Liverpool FC than you ever have or will, unless you win the lottery.

Put it this way Moore's and his family have contributed a hell of a lot more to Liverpool FC than you ever have or will, unless you win the lottery.

"Contribution" though isn't to be measured simply by depth of financial input. The club belongs to the people, the fans, the hundreds of thousands and probably millions of people who clutch portable radios to their earholes listening to our matches every week, who scan the internet for the latest news.

This is the very paradox of football club "ownership" which I can't reconcile. Just because Hicks and Gillette "own" the club, it doesn't mean they can flatten Anfield and build a drive through Macdonalds on the site if they see fit. It doesn't mean they can decide to wind it up because it's not a viable business proposition.

The "owners" of the club are merely custodians. If they "own" it for a time and then sell it on for a profit due to the proliferation of digital media oppotunities, then fair enough, as long as during their tenure they have served the institution with credit and honour.

Moores hasn't contributed more than other Liverpool fans simply because he spent some of his inheritance on it. He arguably has contributed more in terms of sleepless nights, hours put in etc etc than most everybody but that's a different question. Some fans though have lost family members in their "support" of the club, so it goes a bit deeper than the depth of someones pockets.

It's not naive, nor ignorant to point these things out. It may be idealistic, romantic perhaps to talk of honour and integrity but a football club is not purely a business, even though it looks like one. As Woolworths showed, businesses come and go, even long established ones. As long as some nutter from North Korea or Iran doesn't blow us up first though, there will always be a Liverpool football club as long as there is Oxygen surrounding planet Earth.

Moores made a terrible decision selling to the Americans, truly awful. Hopefully his resignation is the precursor to him coming out and admitting so, before possibly leading the campaign to get rid of them. There is still a chance IMHo for redemption for David Moores, as his heart was ultimately in the right place. Perhaps he is the man to lead the boycott of Anfield, to shut down the streets of Liverpool and leave the ground empty, starving these c...s out of our club. It could still be the greatest story ever told.

There is still time for him, hopefully it's a case of cometh the hour cometh the man.

Dont fecking start Heimdell ,

An dont you dare call me ignorant who are you like, Someone has an opinion different than yours an there ignorant,
Moores resigns an says nothing zilch. an yet wants to keep his honoury :censored:. Got the best alround deal imo,

Who gives a shi/te how much he put into the club , he got it all back an more when he sold us to them two,

He should of had the decency to pack it in long ago admitting that hed made one huge big mistake, an denouncing the owners publicly Maybe then he would have earned a bit of my respect back, But hes kept his mouth shut as always,

So if that makes me ignorant an naive then , im in a great club because most of the suppoters who attend the game feel the same as i do,

An dont be so fecking condersending Heimdell , you dont know me , how do you know what money i have put into this club.

Reg you have your opinion and I have mine, which we are both entitled to, I think moores is a sh!thouse for keeping his gob shut in this whole saga. He made one of the biggest mistakes in his life.
And I will never forgive him for it.
Im not talking about what the Moores family done for the City Im talking about David Moores selling the club down the river to a pair of leverage buyout merchants.
So that him & Parry could keep their seats at Anfield.

It would be nice for the yanks to learn who 'owns' the club in much the same way the Mad Mullahs are currently learning they do not 'own' Iran either.

An thats my whole point Cigg , he could earn a little bit of repect back off us by publicly denouncing the yanks admitting he made a mistake , but will do what ever it takes to help us get rid, But if he has jibbed it in because there could be a possibility of a groundshare , he will have to leave the :censored: country never mind Anfield,

Some things not right, as i said before he goes the same day the mps are lobbying parliment against the loan,

Somethings afoot its either.

1. Twit & tw@t are bringing another tw@t in.

2. The groundshare is happening.

3. The yanks will borrow another 300-400 mill and put it on the club for the stadium.

4. We are being taken over.

5. He has re-signed because parry's gone.

good points Reg... have to agree with that..
Going back to one thing though... really dont understand whats so bad about the club having debts ?! I mean the way i see it, the problem is not the club having debts, its rather the clubs inability to come up with enough income or revenue to cover the debts AND move forward with other projects (stadium, transfers, higher wage bill..etc) at the same time... For that i blame the likes of Parry and Moores(the board of directors) for being unable to move the club forward as much as they should have... Even if we didnt have the Americans as owners and had anyone else as our owner (rich crazy arabs being an exception) we'd still be in this exact position i feel...
Thanks for everything Moores but maybe just maybe with Parry and Moores gone the owners are finally starting to identify the sources of the problems within the club and are doing something about it...  a new investor coming in right about now would be brilliant if true, hopefully the money goes to the right place rather than being wasted on projects that are hopeful more than anything... I feel it would be better if we postpone the whole stadium thing until after win the league... for now all our efforts should be put on building on our reputation and i feel winning the league would go a long way in putting us up there with the biggest clubs in terms of commercial appeal to investors (particularly foreign).... Use the money from commercial and merchandise revenue to make the stadium payments and we shouldnt have any problems... Wouldnt be surprised if we decide to spend big on players and go all out to win the league and then focus on building a stadium and other long terms investments...
Again, all the best Moores but its time for a new chapter...

Must admit I agree with Reg here, there is no way Moores would of sold the club he loves knowing full well what a couple of idiots these two would be. He made a big mistake we know that but that, but some of the comments about him in here are over the top.
