That said, I think a few of you Liverpool fans need to wake up a bit.

Your squad is very ordinary.

Your first 11 is ordinary.

I completely respect your club's history, but right now you are not a threatening prospect for any decent Premier League side.

Suarez is a good player, and Carroll is just OK, but your midfield is very mediocre.

Gerrard aside, there is very little there to put any kind of fear into opposition defences.

Downing? Come on, he found his level at Villa or Middlesboro.

Adam?

I genuinely think you have literally no chance at finishing top 4 this year.

I love Spurs fans, never have I come across such a fickle bunch of supporters. When all is peachy they start crawling out the wood work thinking they are the 'big boys', when it's not they all want their manager changed - much like Newcastle's customs.

That said they appear to be kicking on from their 'one season wonders' tag. However, I think we'll push them aside for 4th spot not worried about Spurs really, they'll fade and prove the tag right) and with Cappello departing the England job, wobbly face will try and fulfill his glory as England manager.

Perhaps Dave Tottenham is right about our midfield - I actually share the reservations about Adam myself but one player isn't going to worry me about us finishing 4th or not. It's a squad game these days and with Gerrard back we'll be okay.

Hi call me when you won ONE euro cup.

and btw LFC is on top of spurs at the table atm.

I already said I respected your club's history, so why you feel the need to bring up past glories to make a point, I have no idea.

And you are clearly a clinger on from some random point on the planet as no one in England calls it the 'Euro Cup'.

Address the points I made, or don't bother answering.

You're very defensive there.

I thought I was quite respectful in the dues I gave your club for it's history.

I haven't bad mouthed you at all.

All I am pointing out is how astonished I am at the ridiculous expectations you all have for a relatively mediocre squad.

Gerrard is your only class player.

You've come on stated we're mediocre and you sincerely believe we won't finish 4th because we aren't good enough.

How would you like me to react Dave? Agree with you? It's true, you Spurs fans tend throw your opinions around when all is going well for your lot; God knows how long it's been since I've heard such arrogance from Spurs supporters.

You only believe Gerrard is world class? Well you could add Suarez to that to.

Don't believe the hype that you need a world class player in every position to do well in the Prem. Man Utd are good a example of the 'team game' with decent to v. good players in other positions.

With players like Kuyt, Downing (who has 'actually' done well since joining us - we needed the width he provides!), Bellamy (who can operate out wide), Lucas (who has now come on), wee Jay, Adam, Maxi and Henderson, we have a diversity of players that will all at some stage be able to play their part in our midfield. Granted their not all marquee signings but as I've pointed out with Man Utd's example they don't need to be.

As for our expectations being "ridiculous", all I can say is, just wait and see sunshine - and pop back on here in May. However, if we've met our "ridiculous" expectations (which I think we will) after brushing chavy Spurs aside, in typical Tottenham fashion I doubt we'll hear hide or hair from you again.

I will 'pop' back on here.

To be fair, if you click my username and check my posts, I have never been anything less than complimentary about Liverpool (please do it).

And Ok, I can see that perhaps my choice of language (ridiculous, mediocre etc) might have been better chosen, but I stand by my point.

I have browsed this board for a good while, and I saw countless members dismissing Spurs before we played a week or so back. You almost to a man thought it was a nailed on victory. And then, I even saw them making excuses ( 9 men, biased ref) for why you lost 4-0.

I just think a few of you need a reality check.

It isn't the 1980s any more, and you aren't that good.

Perhaps so. But I remember wobbly face a season or so a go talking about Spurs being able to win the Prem.

That's "ridiculous" and that's coming from your own manager. God knows what the Spurs fans think about their side when their manager is declaring such obscene comments. I can imagine though but I have no desire to hear or read what Spurs fans think on inet forums. Spurs are small fish in a big pond the sooner they (you) realize this then perhaps the sooner some of us will realize we're not living in the 80's anymore.

so u mean only English can support LFC?
if i refer football as soccer will i get condemned by you too ?

what there to argue about ? you think our squad is poor and you are entitled to your opinion.

as i said, come back when your club wins a European cup.

Gerrard is your only class player.

Well that's your opinion... Here's mine on spurs.

You guys have 0 strikers.  I'd start Bellamy, who barely plays for us, over any of your strikers any day.  Modric is a class player, but similar to what you were saying about our midfield, it's all you have.  Lennon only has speed, much like Walcott.  Lennon vs. Enrique, Enrique wins every time.  Bale was the most overrated player last season.. POTY my @ss.  Tho he did learn how to dive.  Not saying he's bad, but his real attribute is speed and thats that.  Defensively, if I were a spurs fan there would be nobody I would trust that currently starts for you guys.  Friedel was the best signing you've guys made in a few years.

Don't even try to brag about you guys beating us at WHL.  It's the worst I've seen us play in years, not to mention the fact we lost 2 men.  It wasn't our day, and if Gerrard's our only class player, we didn't even get to play him.

You come on here saying we have a mediocre squad, when I'd much rather have our squad over yours any day of the week.  Your squad is just as mediocre, so Im assuming you are either saying Arsenal or Newcastle are gonna end up 4th then? Because it sure as hell won't be you lot.

I love spurs fans... They really do enjoy this.  They do well for a week and all the sudden they feel they're one of the best clubs in the world.  The difference between us and you is that when we do well we congratulate with ourselves... We don't go on other's forums and brag about our one-hit-wonder bull sh!te.  We don't have to go act like we're better then anybody else because Liverpool's a classy club.. KD's one of the classiest managers you'll ever see, and a perfect representation of our club.

I wanted to make a point about unrealistic expectations, but now some of you have turned this personal and have seen fit to have a dig at Tottenham Hotspur FC.

With that in mind, I'll respond:

See you lot have this 'magnificent' aura about you, like you are the only club that matters. Like you invented the game. Like you rule.

Let me tell you, THFC has been here since 1882, we don't have your numbers when it comes to trophies, but we have our own glory.

We play football, proper football.

Always have.

You haven't done that for years.

Of the top tier sides, you are without doubt the most boring to watch by miles.

And you have been for years.

I can't remember the last time I watched Liverpool and was genuinely excited about your football.

You're like a fancy Birmingham

You are arrogant beyond belief.

Here's a story for you:

I didn't make it last season (when we done you 2-0 with ease), but I was at Anfield for the previous two Prem matches between our clubs and you lot were embarrassingly quiet.
You were as poor a home crowd as I have have seen in the flesh.

Fulham were better than you.

How do you respond to that?

FULHAM HAD BETTER SUPPORT THAN YOU.

We even sang 'Where's your famous atmosphere' and you had nothing in reply.

NOTHING.

You cling to the past because that's all you have.

Right now, you need to realise you are a poor side.

The 4-0 was literally easy.

It was EASY.

EASY.

To me and thousands of others yes, Liverpool FC is the only club that matters - does this really grate you?

The rest of your post actually mirror's your old rivals' recent approach that 'beautiful' football is the be all and end all of football. Results come first lad, and secondly if you believe Kenny & co believe in 'pragmatic' football then you're as naive as you sound.

We even sang 'Where's your famous atmosphere' and you had nothing in reply

Yeah, Anfield gets that a lot (it's original), not only because others like yourself included wish to be as original and unique in support of your own team as we are of ours. But because jealousy invokes small fish syndrome to bark a bit louder.

You cling to the past because that's all you have.

You're the one who keeps bringing up our past, a sign of your own inferiority perhaps, we're looking to the future, not "ridiculously" like wobbly face did with your team. We're realistic in believing we can finish in fourth spot as the futures bright, and Liverpool RED. :;):

I brought up your past because I respect it.

If I want to make a point about your club's current failings here, I think it's important I do so whilst acknowledging your successes.

No one can doubt Liverpool's success, be they Spurs, United, Everton, Chelsea, or whoever.

We sing 'Where's the atmosphere?' because there isn't any!

If that's unoriginal, then YOU LOT need to fix it as you've been found out.
Trust me, Spurs, Chelsea and whoever else aren't sitting down and planning that one.

Your support is clearly :censored:.

And I'm glad you feel Liverpool matters, I'd expect nothing less.
For Newport County fans their club is the be all and end all as well.

My point is, for the rest of us, Liverpool aren't.

You are boring.

You know the classic scene where the American copper turns up and says "There's nothing to see here".
