It is already a foregone conclusion that Man U, City and Chels are better than us and looks like Spurs will be 4th, they have one game in hand and if they win (and I think they will) they will be ahead of us.
Look at our midfield, we only have SG and Downing whom I believe are good enough and SG is probably very injury prone for the rest of his career. Adam, I'd rank him as above average and Hendo is still learning the trade. Up front we have Suarez who is a star but Carroll is still struggling to adapt to Liverpool. Our central defence dept, Carra looks like past his prime, Agger is available about 1/3 of the time, Skrtel a bit erratic, Coates still young and learning to adapt to the PL. A team like this will be hard to finish 4th.
Thommo's perm wrote:I have said before that Man city will have problems with their petulant, overpaid divas and Tevez has come up trumps, with Dzeko not far behind and Balotelli yet to show his true colours. Mancini is NOT the man to manage such spoilt, childish, pathetic wasters and his troubles have only begun. It goes to prove that having unlimited money does not guarantee professionalism and respect. I would absolutely hate to be a city fan and this goes to show that being envious of the ability to pay for any player you want isnt what its cracked up to be. I honestly believe that we can finish above city and it is arsenal and spurs who are our competitors in the top four.
City are fu'cked and hopefully we are able to take advantage of this opportunity

They have unlimited funds and yes money doesn't guarantee professionalism and respect, that's true. However money does buy quality players and City, points collected wise are doing all right.

City will still be comfortably ahead of us when the season is over, you can take that to the bank.
The fact is we played better at the end of last season with a midfield of Kuyt, Lucas, Meireles and Maxi than our 50 million more expensive midfield today. When you don't have City funds that is epic failure.

Well last season after 18 games under Kenny, we got 33 points. So far after 6 games, 10 points. If we project that to 18 games, that would be 18 divide 6 and then times 10 = 30 points! So from a mathematical perspective, this is a failure considering we've spent more than 100 million in the summer. The next 2 games will be tough and if we lose both, then God helps Kenny.

That said, I think a few of you Liverpool fans need to wake up a bit.
Your squad is very ordinary.
Your first 11 is ordinary.
I completely respect your club's history, but right now you are not a threatening prospect for any decent Premier League side.
Suarez is a good player, and Carroll is just OK, but your midfield is very mediocre.
Gerrard aside, there is very little there to put any kind of fear into opposition defences.
Downing? Come on, he found his level at Villa or Middlesboro.
Adam?
I genuinely think you have literally no chance at finishing top 4 this year.
