Reina

Finnan, Agger, Carra, Riise

Pennant, Stevie, Xabi, Garcia

Kuyt & Bellamy

That's the team for me, an attacking line up is needed for this one. Get the first goal and go on to dominate the game. I would then look to pick the same side for a few games in succession baring injuries.

I fancy our chances in this one.  We've struggled at Boro in the past but, as St. Mick says, they are a truly p!ss-poor side.  Besides, the lads usually respond in the right way after an embarassing defeat (e.g. against Villa following the OT debacle).  I'd like a nice 3-0 win with Bellamy and Gerrard on the score sheet.

wouldn't mind seeing Gerrard put in a few in the back of the net. My team would be:

          Reina

Finnan  Carra  Agger  Riise

Pennant  Gerrard  Xabi  Garcia (If injured then Gonza)

   Kuyt   Bellamy(or Fowler)

This match is vital in the matter of fact we have to win it. Not just because our away form is terrible, but for the players confidence and mental abilities. Anything is possible, but with a defeat like Middlesborough I don't think we'd be able to bounce back straight away.

Come On Lads :) you can do it!

so do i m8. last season we bossed the majority of the game and should in all honesty have sewn up the points. they have basically stagnated a year on while we have made progress somewhere along the line. put it this way, im a litle more confident this time round than i was prior to the corresponding fixture last August. Bellamy bagged another goal tonight and turned in a decent performance on the whole..so,fingers crossed eh. Garcia would be useful too.

Garcia is crucial at this moment in time, he hasnt played much in away games and i think we miss him, playing too defensive away from home will only lead to defeats. At least Luis like to take the ball forward and can score from pretty much anywhere. Probably the only player to have played well all the time this season.

Except for at OT, probably the most crucial time of all

well lets be honest, no positives could be taken from that game anyway.

well we either spend the rest of the season moping over the fact. or we fully get behind the players we have got at our disposal. and are relying upon; to turn it around for the better. and yes that includes Garcia/Pennant/Gonzalez/Zenden/Aurelio/Bellamy/Riise etc.. the whole bleedin lot of em. like it or lump it, their fate is in their own hands. time for the responsibility of that to strike home once and for all.

I would like Pennant to get a run of games in the team. I would also like to see a Warnock, Riise combo on the left.

I am really not that optimistic. I am going to say 1-1. It seems like Boro get up for big matches (ie Chelsea). Our win streak will start gameweek after this.

Finnan   Carrragher   Agger   Warnock

       Gerrard    Alonso   Zenden

     Garcia         Kuyt        Bellamy

We havent even managed to score at The Riverside in the league since March 2002.
Sombre record bogey ground.
It wont be a cakewalk like some are predicting but if we cant beat a team managed by Southgate we might aswell give up.

yes and No, why Zenden instead of Riise, also what the f has happened to Aurelio he looked alright on the left wing at the start of the season. But please can someone tell me why you are all picking Reina over Dudek, I don't get it. I think Dudek has been treated attrociously by Rafa, its a disgrace that he doesn't get a game when Reina is in such poor form.
