100% correct. Our first 11 on their day is as good as any in the league, but outside that, things are thin. Our bench today proved it. In fact, having El Zahr on the pitch proved it. We need a gluttony of signings in the summer of quality. Do we have the money for it? I don't think so. We may have to settle for two really high class signings and some better quality squad players. Some players will have to be sold off, and I expect players like Lucas, Benayoun, Babel and several fringe players to exit. Honestly, it doesn't matter if the manager is replaced. It won't change the situation for us. In fact, I can only see it worsening if that happens. If Benitez really has maintained that he wanted more control of signings, then lets see if his word is true. If he signs a few lesser unknowns and squad fillers again, well, then I'd advocate that he leaves because he will no longer have this leaning stick of an excuse to fall back upon.

Our Spine

Torres
Gerrard
Alonso
Masch
Carragher
Skrtel
Aurelio
Kuyt
Yossi
Riera
Reina
Agger

This are the only players who can cut it , the rest should be cleared out asap

Id add Arbeloa to that list buddy..

He's pants mate , very overrated by our own , should get glen johnson in asap .

Arbeloa's got no pace , poor crossing ability , he ball watches and is too light weight

Where saying sack Rafa for 4 years worth of bad results!

TBF its not Rafas fault we havent won the league in 19 years.

no you are right there, some bad moves have been made by a few managers since we last won it, Rafa has added to it.

I still feel that last year was our best team in years but were used wrong.

Im sick of there fecking rants after every game we balls up in..

I do that on most days anyway lol

SAck RAfa lets get Joe Royal or Alan Curbishley or even that other top draw manager who will do well in Europe Big sam allerdyce.

If Rafa gets as much time as alex ferguson did im sure he will deliver the title.  RAfa has got to admit our squad is not good enough.  Babel hes been shocking. Lucas has been very poor indeed and even Caragher for me isint all that. Yes hes amazing at defending but he cant pass the ball forward more than 5 yards.

Oh its hard being a red isint it, im just dreaming of Rome now.  And for almost 20 years before RAfa come we couldnt dream about getting to a 3rd european final in 5 seasons

bad times

Dalgish has been bashing Rafa for weeks now.Something tells me he is not a big Rafa fan anymore.

Prove it.. what has he said and where..?  for someone who went loopy and allowed our decline to set-in I can't imagine him dissing Rafa

Disgraceful comment that Zara  :no

Those are the only decent players we have. The rest are tripe.

The ones which i have mentioned are still good enough to do the job , players like ngog , arbeloa , lucas and babel should be sold or loaned out

what will change my disappointments this season is a showdown with mannure in the champs league and a victory over them... other then that i dont really give a feck... Best chance in many years to win the title yet we handed the title with ease to mannure.. Our worry now should be chelsea taking the runners up spot...

Anyways guys no points stressing just take it easy and one day if were alive we will see the glory days back.. until they chill out and feck everything.

Good post ..... you just forgot to mention who's fault it is that the squad is so weak and who bought all the poor players that fill it.

And before you say it , no it wasn't Parry :D

It is a shame becasue I think that if Rafa were allowed to get out the tripe and build on that strong first 11 we would be a real force at home. But I think there is too much pressure from the media and otherwise on him so one way or another he will end up leaving before he gets a chance to finish the job. Not to mention the joke owners we have. We are lucky Rafa has stuck around this long so far some people are too fickle and ungrateful.

How many managers have taken their team to the Bernebau, San Siro and Nou Camp and won?

Everyone get a grip please.

I thought we were in a 2 horse race.  This season we will be lucky to finish within 10 points of Man Utd.  Not good enough.
