What in his considered opinion does he suspect we’ve been debating since him and Gerrard left for Portugal ,we are all in agreement with the fact that if Stevie leaves for Chelski our club would suffer a blow of seismic proportions .
What we have to believe is that Benitez is the man to soften the blow by replacing him with a quality addition and assist us in playing inventive flowing football ,what we don’t need is Michael casting reservations about the clubs progress on our impending rebirth .
Michael Owen is a player of genuine quality but now he must trust Benitez to replace Stevie with proven class players , because his remarks after Portugal don’t inspire confidence he already sounds defeated and Liverpool at this time do not need negativity . We the fans need to know Michaels intentions and commitment to our club .
I and probably the majority of true fans would be loathe to loose such a potent striker who on his day is unstoppable ,Owen is ! and make no mistake about this still one of the best in the game but like Gerrard he can not be allowed to destabilise and derail Liverpool’s ambitions were to important for that .
