At the end of the day Dirk Kuyt is not good enough for L.F.C he is a throw back to old english type striker.

I reckon he only gets a game cos of his good looks! :D

If we beat Wigan on Wed night is 10 points over Christmas that bad

I think not

No today was not a good game but City are no mugs they new they could all sit infront of there goal and get a point.

A few people said a week ago a point against this lot would be good.

10 points over christmas would be great.

I actually am quite happy with the performance......Defensively we looked great...and Mash was the monster. He single handedly broke the momentum of the City midfield. (Thats why i think he is better than Alonso..and a great partner with Gerrard).

Think Kuyt looked better as the game went on...... But i still think crouch should play ahead of Kuyt.

Carra was great.

Arbeloa looked great too.

Auerlio looked assured.

Finnan looked as usual competant.

Benayoun had an above average game.....

Torres and Gerrard had a sub-par game. We need another player to take pressure of these guys......Go for Anelka rafa.

As for Babel....i said it once...and i will say it again....he is a waste of $$$...... He is just so predictable..... I know when he is gonna do the step over...i know when he is gonna shoot...and i also know when he is gonna trip over the ball...

Reina - 6/10
Finnan - 6.5/10
Carra - 7.5/10
Arbeloa - 6.8/10
Auerlio - 7/10
Mash - 8/10
Gerrard - 5.5/10
Benayoun - 6.5/10
Kewell - 6/10
Kuyt - 6/10
Torres - 5/10
Babel - 4.5/10

Torres may have been poor today but he's been great most of the season, when was the last time Kuyt was great?

Kuyt has scored 3 league goals this season, 2 penalties and one that hit is knee and went in.

Our supposed superstars Torres and Gerrard was distincly average today. Kewell had some good attempts in the first half then he disappeared. Yossi just doesnt get involved in the play much. Yet all the criticism is sent towards kuyt... Its a joke.

A draw today could have been good if we hadn't done some mistakes before like the Birmingham at home game.

The worst thing about today is that if anybody deserved to win that was Liverpool. But we didn't.

Kuyt wasn't accurate in the past, but I wouldn't put him as a scapegoat, it wasn't his fault some of the mistakes in other players. Benayoun made some mistakes, was dispossesed for bringing the ball too much, and didn't allow to head the ball properly to Kuyt in a chance at the end. Babel should have crossed the ball before going too deep (his left foot is still missing), and Torres seemed to have eaten too much in the Christmas dinner, not his best afternoon.

Mascherano was excellent, and I liked Fabio Aurelio too.

In front of us we had a decent team, our typical counters initiated by Reina were well covered by their fullbacks and they seemed more than decent team. But I think Liverpool deserved to win and that's why I'm dissapointed.

Well that was the most frustrating game I've watched in a long, long time. Regardless of how well we played, and people will say we should have won. Woulda, shoulda, coulda. Bollox. It's like this: in any sport, if you fail to take advantage of your rival/opponent's mistakes, then you don't deserve to be a winner. We were handed a lifeline back into the title race and we blew it....again. Same old. We don't deserve the title for that. Perhaps this is why we haven't won it in so long. I can remember countless times where we've been chasing only for this kind of situation to present itself to us. We won't win the title this year because of it. And we won't win it any time soon unless we rectify our ways of doing this.

And for the record, I don't care what anyone says. If a 10 million pound player cannot put the ball in the back of the net from all of four yards out to gift us three very precious points to get us back in the race, then you have to start asking questions why he even cost that much in the first place. You have to ask questions why he's even playing for us. Kuyt should be sold ASAP. If he's still here in January, I'll be very disappointed.

To be fair, Babel only had 15 minutes or so on the pitch.. can't really blame him when Rafa left it so late for the substitution.

City are a good team.....Sven has bought great players to their side...Petrov is one of the best LWs in this league. Elamo didn't have a good game but he is class...

They had every man back defending, doing nothing, Kuyt should got the header, but didnt, Torres had chances but was playing poor, Yossi was avarage today, he lost the ball to much for my likeing. Kewell was decent, but Babel didnt really do much when he came on... Defence had a day off

Mascha man of the match no doubt. Half the time he was the only person trying to go past players (and doing it)

Reina – Had nothing to do

Finnan – Was solid throughout but took the easy option of passing sideways too many times.

Aurelio – Good game, showing signs of getting back to full strength.

Carragher – Did excellently in the first half under a lot of pressure but too many sideways passes when he has the chance to step up.

Arbeloa – A few dodgy moments but grew stronger as the game went on.

Benayoun – Quiet first half, but was productive in the second and looked as likely as anyone to make the difference, proving to be a far superior option than Pennant.

Kewell – Did O.K, struggled to make an impact against the strength and pace of the Man City right back.

Mascherano – Did his job brilliantly as usual

Gerrard – Did his best to inspire something but lost the ball too much when attempting elaborate passes.

Kuyt – Worked hard as usual but looked anonymous as an attacking threat.

Torres – Couldn’t make an impact against the strength and pace of the Man City centre backs, looked tired.

Babel – Did O.K in his little cameo but needs to start passing the ball earlier when things open up.

I agree wholeheartedly with the "kuyt was bought to score goals" arguement. The boy is a striker for (one of) the top team(s) in europe and he doesnt score enough goals. He has been given time from the manager and patience from the fans and still nothing yet. We cant afford to give him any more time, hes a dead weight up front.

I agree about Aurelio, I missed mentioning him before, had probably his best game for us since Arsenal at home last season.
