well there was his header that was just cleared off the line

or does that not count because it's kuyt.

some of the criticism aimed at kuyt on here is ridiculous

Kuyt was our best striker today but Torres is immune to criticism and Kuyt is the usual scapegoat so its business as usual.

Torres has been disappointing today, or maybe DUnne and Richards were just too immense. Gutted with the draw.

Carragher and Aurelio were the better players on the pitch today.

The effort should have been awarded by 3 points. Bad finishing by Torres. No help did he get from Kuit. At least Torres is getting chances. A poor Kewell was almost playing like a woman. And a poor referee who did not prevent Man City from roughing up Torres. Two times pulled down when trough on goal. Extremely bad referee.

Mascherano Man of the Match. A giant. Another world class performance.

That game was crying out for a Luis Garcia or a player of that calibar ..... Dirk Kuty is seriously W*nk, i know he gives 150% yeah thats great but id rather have Luis doing nothing for 89minutes and then a moment of magic !!

Really Kuyt isnt cutting it... slow, turns like Hypia, Speed of Teddy Sheringham ... jeeeeeez us !

Yea I agree the criticism that Kuyt recieves in here is simply beyond ridiculous.. he was by far the better striker out on the pitch today.

We didn't play too bad today...City offered shyte all day to threaten us...big game for Dunne ably supported by Hamann and Richard...without Dunne we could have won't by 2 or 3 goals...3 points drop thou and we still haven't marshall the art of winning ugly :(

He hit the header stright at the keeper

oh right sorry, my mistake. i always thought a header on target that's cleared off the line was a chance on goal. i guess i was wrong.

if kuyt had missed the chances torres did you'd all be criticising him and saying how :censored: he is, what a disgrace to the shirt and all the usual bollocks that's said about him. it wasn't kuyt though, it was torres. funny how he's just unlucky.

let's face it, other than the last 5 mins we lacked any urgency going forwards. there was little or no movement (again) and torres had a bad game. we need to be let off the leash more. when we went for it at the end, we dominated.

why not do that all the way through?

I thought we played well, another day we would have taken our chances and won. Torres had a poor game, Kuyt was his usual self (slow) and Gerrard wasn't great either. Mascherano was immense, as was Carra and Finnan. Arbeloa played much better second half.

VERY DISAPPOINTED  but we did enough to win

Horrible game .......

The ref was cr*p way to slow ....

Feel sorry for the players cos Man City had 10 players in their  own box ALL game ...

Its starting to annoy me beyond all belief because united lost and yet AGAIN we couldnt do anything ...

Lack of quality

mascharano was our man of the match by miles. We must do our best to keep him he is class.

Both Gerrard and Torres never played that well today but Benitez should of realized the game was there for the taking and brought Babel on alot sooner.

As a result our title challenge is over.
