MANCHESTER CITY VS LIVERPOOL - 1st team to beat man city at home?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

obviously every game in the prem is of massive importance, but I can really feel the massivness on this one building. We have not been the same team that has been clobbering teams from the begining of November to mid December, where we have had three "bad" performances in 4, but we have also taken full points in our last two games.  Teams at the top are dropping points left and right, and WE MUST TAKE advantage, but I'm not sure thats really worth saying because it would be just as vital not to fall further behind if they were winning.  We have not won a game this season that will be tougher than City away. (notice how i didn't say play) Luckily, I guess they are having a dip in form(lost to spurs, drew at Villa, drew to Blackburn), but if they beat us, we are going to be looking up at them in the table, so they can't be that bad.  United Lost this corresponding fixture early in the season.  This game could go all three ways, and we need to show up and win these.

f'cking hell. So the Mancs lost, then! Now this game has gone from being an important game, to a must win cup final type scenario. It's a lifeline that I didn't see coming so early on after the defeat to them at home. Win this game and we're right back in it again; fail and we're f*cked and probably don't deserve another chance.

i know it sounds stupid, but the main reason im nervous:

manure lost and gooners are losing!!!

we just never maxamise, but hopefully after the near scare against derby we can pull our socks up and get the 3

i don't hold any dreams of winning the league or anthing else this season.

all thats left is for us to is defeat manure in the theater of germs.
and for rafa to say bye bye, thus sending him away with a nice CHEESE roll.

29.12.07  Man City vs LFC: Latest team news

Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez is facing a defensive crisis with veteran Sami Hyypia almost certainly unavailable for the clash against Manchester City.

Hyypia suffered a twisted ankle in the Boxing Day win at Derby, and although Benitez is awaiting reports from his medical team, he has virtually ruled the Finn out of the Premier League match.

It means Benitez must decide whether to risk Daniel Agger in the match at Eastlands, the young Dane having not played for three months as he recovers from a broken metatarsal.

He has been training for a fortnight and is using specially built-up boots, but his lack of match practice is a concern.

Liverpool have full-back Alvaro Arbeloa fit again after a bout of flu, and he could be switched to partner Jamie Carragher while youngster Jack Hobbs is also on stand-by. Peter Crouch is still suspended.

Man City midfield duo Elano and Dietmar Hamann are set to earn immediate recalls as boss Sven-Goran Eriksson left the pair out of Thursday night's 2-2 draw with Blackburn.

With Michael Johnson (groin) again set to miss out, Eriksson will turn to Elano to provide the inspiration for victory and former Reds star Hamann to subdue his old team-mate Steven Gerrard.

Teams:

Manchester City (from): Hart, Isaksson, Onuoha, Corluka, Sun, Dunne, Richards, Garrido, Ball, Ireland, Hamann, Elano, Fernandes, Geovanni, Petrov, Mpenza, Vassell, Bianchi, Samaras.

Liverpool (from): Reina, Arbeloa, Finnan, Carragher, Hobbs, Riise, Aurelio, Benayoun, Babel, Gerrard, Mascherano, Alonso, Kewell, Voronin, Torres, Kuyt, Lucas, Agger, Itandje.

If arsenal lose today, we win tomorrow and also win our game in hand then we're 2 points off arsenal and 3 off man u. We would be right back in it then

Be sure it's the kind of cheese that grows from under your foreskin. You sound bitter! 2-1, c*nt!
