David Cortes the 'well known' full back from Mallorca is due to sign for us tomorrow after a week of talks.

I have no problem with quality signings, so long as they're for the right areas. Full-backs we've got - we're still crying out for a quality, pacy centre half.

If Hyypia is out for a spell, a centre-back partnership of Carra and Traore does not fill me with confidence. And quite where this all leaves Henchoz and Finnan I have no idea.

Lets hope this rumour is true, we looked very frail in defence versus Bolton. Once Hyppia goes off we looked vunerable.

Full Backs = Finnon, Josemi, Rise , Carragher, Traore,

Centre backs ......Hyppia, Henchoz ...ermmmmm thats it

Cortes keen on move to Liverpool

Real Mallorca full-back David Cortes hopes he can seal a move to Liverpool ahead of the transfer deadline.
The Reds boss Rafael Benitez has been linked with a move for Cortes in recent days and the player is eager to switch to Anfield.

'There is interest but Liverpool have still not got in contact with the club so all I can do is wait and see what happens,' he said.

Cortes' agent Tente Sanchez is not optimistic a deal can be pushed through before tonight's deadline.

He said: 'If there is still no news, it looks as if it will be complicated for it to happen.'

Benitez is in the process of remodelling his squad at Liverpool and has already signed three Spaniards - Josemi, Xabi Alonso and Luis Garcia.

i read that this guy is a right back. we don't need anymore right backs surely? unless rafa plans on using josemi as a centreback.

I'd say Josemi will feature more as a centre back.

I read the reviews of the Mallorca-Madrid match on Monday morning and Cortez was apparently man of the match.

Apparently he is an extremely attack minded right back who likes to overlap.
