This is the final straw. He was my boyhood here when I was the tender age of 7, 8 and 9.
I had posters of him all over my room. Had his name on my first ever shirt.
Went to my first match and got his signature. Treasured it until today.
His leaving to madrid was hard for me to take, it hurt, but at the time they were something of a fabled team. A European giant with "Galacticos". A world-beating team. As hard as it was to admit, it seemed a small (understandable) step forward.
But this. This is the final nail in a long-closed coffin.
Now for it to be buried and long-forgotten.
I don't care about his goal-scoring record for us and the FA Cup he won almost single-handedly.
M. Owen will never be remembered as a Liverpool Legend in my household.
