a 3rd round clash with luton in the fa cup we all know what happened at this stage last yr a one djimi traore who rafa still persists to play scored a great goal dissapointingly in the wrong end

seriously after that embarrasing exit last year and carling cup this year is rafa gonna field a weak tem ie players like potter  and whitbread most people know that the race for the premiership is over so liverpool need to win something this season aswell as the champions league by the way does the super cup count as this years honour

my team vs luton

dudek

finna

Id give Crouch a rest on this one and maybe go with Pongolle /Cisse up front. Crouch is obviously Rafas 1st choice striker so id expect him to be rested given that we have some tough games coming up in the next few weeks. To be honest as silly as it may sound the FA cups never really hit my buttons so i wouldnt mind if Rafa put out a kiddies squad.

Dont you like going to Cup Finals?

The weekends we've had in Cardiff have been great, and to get to the first New Wembley final would be sound.
Come on... the FA Cup is still a great cup to win.

I'll be pis.ssed off he plays a "Burnley" squad. I'm hoping Rafa's learnt from last year.

I've siad all along that if the FA granted a champions league placing to the winners of the FA Cup instead of the UEFA Cup - teams would take the cup more seriously

Disagree.
We dont play for another week after Luton.
Riise, Alonso, Cisse and Garcia are fresh.
The only players needing a rest are Carragher, Hyypia (obviously not at same time) and maybe Gerrard.
Burnley last year made us look foolish as a club.

good point.

imo this competition shouldnt be allowed to sink into the obscurity that the carling and uefa cups now lie in.

Yeah, 7 free days after Luton we play Spurs.
Plenty of time to rest.

I dont agree with this resting players baloney to the extent at which some believe.
OK, rest a couple from time to time when busy, but we've got Spurs 7 days after Luton and Man U 8 days after that.

Effes is right.  This is a good chance to reward (note, I said 'reward', not 'test') one or two standouts among the youngsters and rest one of two of the 1st XI (if they need it), but it should be a strong team.  Luton will be up for it after all.

I'll leave it to others who've seen the reserves play to come up with the right team, but I don't want to see Sissoko and Hamann together in the centre again!

I think 3-0 to Liverpool, not sure what sort of side Rafa will put out as i expect him to be catious of injuring players with too important games against Spurs and Utd which could srop us down into 5th if were not careful.
