sorry not many people i say this but you have no clue about football you are clueless dont point out babel playing poor he isnt a winger rafa is trying to shape him into a winger but he isnt one he dont have the skills to be effective yet look at his game he got a good powerful shot composure and pace.

Now think aboit it lando where would you play him witht hose skills ?  :Oo:

You really are as thick as pig sh*t, aren't you? With all this "ex-pro" knowledge of yours, I'd have thought you'd ahve the where-with-all to notice that the best way to develop a player's game is to play him in the position that requires him to use those skills you wish to improve.

That's why Hobbs played a season in midfield for our reserves - to improve his passing and ball skills.

Oh, to be a pr*ck who calls into question the knowledge of others whilst missing the f*cking obvious in the process.

I'm beginnign to understand why "Shilton" f*cked you off...

When I heard the build up to the game on Radio 5 I knew it wouldn't go simply...

Luton's home form good, their current form good, knocking out Everton in the Carling Cup, knocking Sunderland and Charlton out the Cup, players not being paid since October because of the club being in administration, chance of revenge for a couple of years ago....then you've got the opposition manager's job security issues splashed over all that days papers, his well known love of starting weaker teams against opposition he thinks are weak because of their league position combined with 'Basic Edition' tactics ....those kind of things can give them the confidence to be real stubborn buggers to break down.

Not in the least surprised it turned out how it did....but I'm glad to see he HAS learned from Burnley a couple of years ago....score a goal before you hand them an own-goal.

Struggled with a +13 goal difference... Hmmm.....

Nearly out, even though we haven't yet gone behind...

5th in the league after half a season...

Nope - I'm not happy with that, but I don't think it's the end of the World, either.

"If" you weren't too busy thinking about my being bummed by other members of this forum, you might actually stick to facts.

"If" you weren't such a chump, you might actually make sense.

"If" is a big word, for one with such a small brain.

This was and FA cup game that meant everything for Luton this season and Rafa rested our best players(which in turn hurt us more than Rafa wants to admit).

They fought for every inch on the field and deserved the draw. But once at Anfield Luton have had their fun and it'll be a comfortable win.

If there are positives to take out from such a game, I see some.

Like for every game that goes by and one more game for kuyt to show everyone what a shower of ***** he really is.
Absolutely zero ability and I'm just begging Rafa to take of his glasses in this case. Morientes was a failure in the PL, as were Gonzalez. They went pretty quickly. I put Kuyt in the exact same category. I'm not saying Voronin is much better, but:

1) he has only been here half a season and isn't Rafa's 1st choice all the time. Voronin is our 4th striker, get the least time and therefore I expect production of a 4th striker.
Kuyt has played more minutes than any other striker that past 2 seasons and is showing game after game what an offensive non-factor he is. Only way to make him look half decent is to let him take the penalties(which he never creates himself)

2) Since Voronin is our 4th choice and was brought on a free transfer he would fetch at most around £2 million. Kuyt who gets worth less every game would at least bring back £5(million). And selling 2 strikers at the same time makes no sense.

I am not as surprised this season as many others who believe our squad is so great and every one of them is practically world class.
Only players with good enough footballing ability and useful for the future are:

Reina
Torres
Gerrard
Mash
Alonso
Babel
Carra
Agger
Lucas

That is 9 players out a squad of 20-24. The rest are just not good enough to be in a squad fighting for the title.
I do not at all agree with those saying this squad is soo good.
Yes, it is so much better than when Rafa took over, but by that time Houllier had run us to the ground.
So unless Rafa got the Wenger genes and somehow manages to find good or world class players around every corner for 2p, he has done a fantastic job with the resources at his disposal. But if you got a team consisting of utter trash like he had when he arrived and little money, there is no way you can put all eggs in one basket and buy one "world class player" for 20 million and nothing else. What does that help the team? Very little overall. Not to talk about an injury to that player.

So since Rafa is a great manager, but no magician, the only way is nice and slow, as long as the funds aren't there.
To catch Manure right now and here at least 3 world class players is needed= at least £50 million. That is the truth. And no more net spend of 20 million each season. That= fight for 4th each season.

And no, I do not believe anyone would do better than rafa and few as good as him.

And no, I do not believe it is our god given right to win the title because of our great history. it's one thing to be proud of it and another thing to be blinded by it. This is now and not the 70's and 80's. The footballing landscape is totally different and until recently we have stood still basking in our past glory instead of agressivly promoting our great club around the world, getting a stadium that would compete with out rivals. Always just pushed it on the future when it will be even harder.

So what you are saying is Rafa is a great manager, but he persists in playing a cr@p striker, and most of the money he has spent he has wasted because only 7 of the players he has bought are good enough.

I think I would prefer someone else defending me in court mate :D

Well, Rafa is a great manager, but he isn't a magician. One of Rafa most annoying points is his stubborness with players, tactics and after game comments. Kuyt is one such example.
But still less stubborn that say, Houllier who never admitted a mistake ever.

And no, Rafa is one of the best the there is when taking care of the funds he has available. He practically trats it like it were his own. How many players have/will Rafa loose money on??? How did the previous managers fare in that department?
Terrible I'd say.
Because I did say in the situation Rafa was/is in with a limited budget, it's all about nice and SLOW. To slightly improve the team and at the same time gettng 1 quality player each year.
And so he has. Switching :censored: midfielders for decent ones, :censored: forwards for decent ones etc. That is the only way to go!
Decent is better than :censored: but it is no where good enough to be the best. The problem is with the financial backing that has been so far means it will take much longer to get a squad full with good/very good players that will allow Rafa to rotate and use his whole squad without severe impact on the performance on the pitch.

I just don't like that fact that the CL win 2005 created some enormous expectations even if the players were mostly :censored:.
I think many are fooling themselves if the y think no squad has better players than ours.

You can survive in cup competition with fewer game with the help of a great tactical knowledge and mangerial skill.

But the league is a marathon over 10 months where there are no shortcuts or some tactical brillince will save the day.
Best players win, as simple as that. 38 games leave very little to coincidence.

so at 1-1 they didnt have chances to win it?

we rid our luck at 1-1, however down the other end we barely created a thing
