he's only goin for 4 mil cos of the Torres deal....if Torres were stayin put you'd see a higher figure if rafa were to sell him at all...

as ive said before i will miss lil luis. great player, and losing one of our only creative players is disheartening...but good luck to him in the future and thx for the memories!

4 Million undervalues Garcia IMO, but it  gives us an extra 7 million to spend and thats before Rafa starts to dip into what ever the transfer kitty is, it was suggested he would have 40 million to spend so the sale of Garcia makes it 47 million. More than enough to get some more quality players in

:(

Sad news.

I'm a proud owner of a No. 10 jersey.

He was one of my favorite players. And he scored a bunch of priceless goals.

He will be missed.

Good luck Luis Garcia.

Maybe we'll see you have a second stint a few years from now. :D

YNWA.

In my opinion from what I've seen of Torres he isn't all that much better than Garcia, yet we sell him for £4m and bring in torres for £26.5m  :oh:

Lets just hope Torres isn't a flop.

a total enigma the little Spaniard, blessed with genius yet cursed with the inability to pass three yards

loved by some hated at times by most, but a player every single lfc fan will remember with a smile, a great pro and an example to alot of the footballers of this generation for his attitude towards the team

see ya luis and you will get a great reception if you ever return

I wonder if Torres will get the number 9 shirt or maybe the number 10 shirt from Garcia's departure?

Garcia seems to have a habit of going back to old clubs, so who knows?

I honestly believe we have lost our two best finishers this summer, Garcia & Fowler. All we've brought in so far is Torres, who is a skillful player, but definately not a great finisher. I just hope we bring in a world class poacher too, although I don't know if our budget will allow that.

well said, i must admit the majority of the time i spent watching him i was on the hatred side of the coin, but he's been responsible for some of my best european memories with LFC (chelsk and juve at the top of the pile :bowdown )

so with a heavy, (but slightly relieved) heart i wish the lad good luck, and unlike many others who have written on this thread i'll be happy to watch his carrer in spain without worrying about him giving the ball away week in week out for us.

I'm absolutely gutted that the little fella's gone, sure he could be infuriating but also he had that wonderful ability to scrore big goals in big games - just ask Maureenio - best of luck to you Luis. :bowdown

I know his best goal was arguably  against Juve in the CL (how we could have done with him in Athens) but this is my favourite :

I'm not "devastated" at losing Luis, perhaps a little sentimental given his performances in some games, but I'm more optimistic about the signing of Torres and a new direction. Luis was never Mr consistency but he made the difference in many games, yet still, we reached the UCL final last year without him and I firmly believe we can go on to achieve further success without him. In the league he was at times dire and a major flaw, yet at times he was also the key difference. IMO he will be missed but from a tactical point of view I see him being of no significant loss to our future plans. He would have been great to keep as someone who can unlock stubborn defenses, but maybe we can find a couple of solid wingers which IMO is what has been one of our key problems to making a sustained push in the league. If the deal was necessary in order to sanction any move for Torres - then so be it. If he was just homesick and could not turn the opportunity to return to AM down, then you have to let him leave, I think Rafa will be well aware of who we need to replace his creativity.
