seriously, our medical team is beyond a joke. what the hell were they doing letting lucas play the other day when he got injured in the warm up?

absolutely gutted for the lad. thank god we got sahin in who can play deeper. allen can also play that role if needed.

So True ,have been saying it for years now...With Agger ,Aurellio ,Gerrard....Something is pretty messed up with the medical team. Probably the same guys which did the Carrol ,Keane and Aqua signnings...

Blaming the medical team seems a bit irrational to be honest. Lucas has an injury which is unrelated to his cruciate injury last season, it's just bad luck.

As for Agger and Gerrard, the medical team can't prevent all injuries, some are just injury prone. Aurelio had a poor injury record at Valencia, that's why they didn't renew his contract and we got him on a Bosman.

What about Kewell? Is he the medical team's fault too?  Should we blame them for Rob Jones' early retirement and Diggers' achilles being shot by the age of 30. In fact, i blame them for big Jan and Razor being overweight.

Tell you where they really let themselves down though, all that quick thinking to save Houllier's life during the Leeds game.

i think st michael was refering to the fact that lucas had hurt himself in the warm up mate, he told the bench before the game started that he had tweaked something in his thigh but they said start the game and see how it goes.
i think mick is saying if they had erred on the side of caution then maybe he`d be looking at a couple of weeks on the sidelines instead of a couple of months.

Bet Spearings snapped his legs with a two a footed lunge at Melwood in a last ditch attempt to scupper
his proposed move away from Anfield  :;):

Apparently back in the squad for this Saturday.  Great to have him back and hopefully he finds form quickly.
We desperately need him to bring balance to the midfield

Huge weight of expectation on him. Let's take our time with him, let him get re-established.

Our most important player after Suarez, and that includes Reina and Gerrard. Unfortunately we won’t see the best of him for a month or two even if he does make his comeback on the weekend.

Let's hope he stays fit. It's funny how many people are calling for his return, when a few years ago he was being humiliated by the fans (not saying you were one of them CHL). Just wonder who of the current crop of scapegoats will come good in the way Kuytie did. My money's on Hendo.

People thinking Lucas will solve our problems are kidding themselves. Unless he's majestically turned into a 10 goal a season midfielder anyway.

He is our best chance of allowing other players from midfield positions to forage forward for goals, Sahin and Gerrard for example....I do have worries whether he will return to his best after such terrible injuries...Steven Gerrard is a shadow of the player he was before the last 2-3  injury plagued seasons.

That's the concern and why I don't think people should be pinning all their hopes on him, at least until he gets properly match fit. If he could get back to the form of 2 seasons ago I think he would make a big difference, protecting the defense and linking up play to Gerrard/Allen/Hendo/Sahin. It would be great to see Allen playing slightly in front of him.

i think he`s back in the squad today, could be a turning point in our season.
i know it`s going to take him a while to get back to where he once was after so long out through injury but even so we are talking about a player that was the best player at the club for the 18 months up until his injury.
i`m looking forward to seeing lucas and allen paired up in midfield, maybe now we`ll see this much vaunted `pressing game` of rodgers actually work.
