So you would play Luis Garcia as a central midfielder and Alonso as a winger?

It sounds like you want Garcia to play in the centre on his own. You're also advocating a sort of 'triangle' as opposed to a 'diamond'. It's certainly innovative I'll give you that. I suppose you'd have the element of surprise on your side and in so-doing it may take the opposition a while to work out whats going on.
That said though, and in all due consideration, I think the whole theory is utter b0ll0cks to be honest. Sorry to be rude it's not normally my way but I've had a hard day today and the old patience is a bit thin.

That formation would not work. Teams with a strong midfield four such as Chelsea, Arsenal and Manure will murder that. Gerrard is best used as the pivotal central midfielder - behind the front two his tackling skills will be wasted. Alonso can not play on the right and Garcia has not yet shown he is worth a place in the side when Smicer is fit.
