We must to live in reality friends!!!!
With players that we have we can be only a good team!!!
No ofense but we dont have superstars.
We must not think emotionly and with empathy but we are far away from Chelsea Arsenal and Man Utd!!!!!
Our very good players are: Gerrard,Cisse,Baros,Kewell,Alonso,Risse,Carragher
Luis Garcia and Nunez are good players but they need time i think!!!!
But after that nothing!!!!!
Chelsea has 22-24 starters
Arsenal has the best 11 starters in england!!!
Man Utd also!!!
We need imediatly 3-4 very good players!!!!
And i think Gerrard has wright when he says that we must to play at top level.
But with those players we cant.
If the board cant buy them,then they have to sell Liverpool to someone who can!!!!!
We are the most popular team in the world together with Man Utd and Real and we cant buy some very good players.
Enough with the talents only!!!!
We need ready players!!!!!
Its only my opinion and I would like to hear and yours!!!!!
I am sick to play only for the 4th or 3rd position every season.

hey, no need to apologise.

i just got back to the forum after 2.5 days away from it and will probably never get to read the mountain of new posts, so i know what oyu mean.

clearly we have a small number of excellent players and a couple of outstanding ones. what we lack is depth in the squad, we just don't have quality cover (or in some cases first choice) in certain areas. the good players you picked out i mostly agree with but i reckon its too early to call about cisse, we never really saw him on fire before his injury. i also think nunez is better than a squad player.

of course we need and would love some quality players to come to the club. but its not just a case of selling liverpool to the highest bidder to achieve this. the club has history and traditions that have to be understood and honoured by whoever invests. we don't want the buying of players/stadium/whatever for quick success in the short term to ruin the club and what it stands for in the long term.

and, yes, we are all sick of competing for 4th place as a target. we need to be serious contenders for the top.

very good post greece2004 , We need to go big in the transfer market , Coz i really belive we are 2 or 3 players short of the top 3 clubs and adding players in the calibre of Xabi Alonso is the key for success , and i really think that liverpool should and sign Van bommel for free as a replacement to hamann as 1 of those 3 players . Anyways i believe we r becoming a stronger team and i believe that Rafa knows exactly what he is doing .

WE DONT NEED 20 PLAYERS BUT ANOTHER 3-4 QUALITY PLAYERS.And if you have problem with that read what Rafa said today about the transfers.

Jeez guys come on. I'm not a big follower of World football myself but Van Bommel? he's been around for a while mountie. He scored a screamer for Holland against England a while back. Everybody's been linked with him, Arsenal, Spurs, Man City. You must have heard of him? We're not talking about some unknown here.
As for G04, mate if you're not a nom de plume on a wind up then, well er,...I don't know what to say really. My mum always said if you can't think of anything nice to say then be quiet so I will.
Just as a general point aimed at nobody in particular, try and keep it relavent, sensible and pertinant guys. There's no wonder people get peeved off if you flood the boards with rubbish.
