LIVERPOOL VS WEST BROM - Saturday 17.30pm ko

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Dundalk » Wed Nov 05, 2008 11:50 pm

Well after a disappointing midweek game against Madrid we now set are sights back to the Premiership and a home game against West Brom.

Everyone is hoping Nando will be back for this one and I think it is a perfect game for him to make his comeback. West Brom are not a great team but they will not come to Anfield to sit back and defend. They will try to play a bit of football and therefore Nando should be given a bit of space at the back. I would like to see him start up front with Keane with Mash taking a break for this one.

Should be a comfortable win and I think it will.

3-0

When people say should be a comfortable win, those are the games that worry me the most  :(

Exactly , stoke was a comfortable win , so was spurs and we dropped points in both . Not taking anything for granted a 1-0 will settle for me , with nando getting some playing time

I'm very nervous of this game, this is exactly the kind of game which we could loose, I hope I'm wrong but unless we can start getting some bloody goals it could be hairy. WBA aren't that bad a side at least not in attack.
I really hope though that this can be the game where we thump a team 3 or 4 nil and get back on track after a mini blip the last two games.

After a long spell on the bench, nando needs to warm those scoring boots of his. What better opportunity than facing a team that is most likely to be defeated. That way once he got his scoring boots supercharged, beware all other teams!

That would make it the first bloody one all season then!!!

It would be nice to be 2-0 up going into half-time wouldn't wouldn't it! One of them routine regulation wins where you can put your feet up, relax and enjoy the game.

Truth is we're probably in for another 90 minutes of nervy disco sphincter   :D

If Keane is ever going to get goals for us surely this is the one game when he can't fail?  I would be expecting 3 or 4 nil under normal circumstances , but maybe we should be looking for just a comfortable 2-0 after the last few games. I think we will see a little tinkering in this game with a few players rested after the midweek game. I think Torres will play but maybe only for an hour or so. Agger may be injured so I cant see a problem with Hyypia getting a game. Alonso looked shattered midweek so may need a rest. Arbeloa has played every game and its time we saw what Degan can do anyway.

                     Reina

Degen         Carra      Hyypia        Dossena

Kuyt       Masch   Gerrard      Riera

               Keane   Torres

He was on the bench midweek so presumably he's ready.
