I support the DIC takeover, and believe we are a mid table team with limited ability...and believe rafa is not the man to take us any further...like it or not thats the reality of our situation at the moment.

ditto...

im beginning to question whether rafa can take us that step closer to the premiership.

if we can't beat sunderland at home, then something drastic needs to happen, ideally sell at least 50% of the 1st team squad and sack benitez
1) You'll Never Walk Alone
2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.

The way we are playing.....and rafa's "loss of form" on his coaching and motivating skills.....i can see this a 0-0 draw.
But like all LFC fans....i hope we win

Would like to play this team....

                  Reina
     Finnan   Hyppia  Carra  Riise
           Mash    Alonso
              Benayoun
        Gerrard        Babel
               Torres

When torres tires, bring on crouch and pennant (for babel).....

hi folks,
have enjoyed this site for a number of years, have got a lot more time on my hand so will be able to get involed a bit more, am gonner start with a stab in the dark and pick a team for saturday.
3-5-2

                                reina
      skirtal                  hypia           carra

                           mashcarano
               alonso                      lucas
   gerrard                                          babel

                      torres         crouch

benny
kuyt
pennent
finnian

3 big strong c/d at the back not a lot of pace but babel and gerrard and mash will help the defense out, hopefully lucas and alonso could feed the four upfront when attacking, cant do any harm the way we have been playing recently

My team:

                              Reina

               Finnan  Carra  Skertel  Riise

               Pennant Lucas  Mascha Babel

                          Torres  Crouch

Yes I'd drop the captain for this one, merely because of his disrespect to the manager, its out of line from a paid proffesional. And even if it means loosing so be it, we're in a s.hit position anyway !

Rest Hyypia give Skertel a game against Sunderland, I know Havant gave him a bit of a runaround but the lad was clearly nervous, he is obviously better than that. Rafa paid the money for him, so he should play him and Sunderland would be a good opportunity.

Lucas would come in next to Mashca IMO, Alonso and Mascha arent offensive enough, I'd be hoping Lucas can get forward a bit more. Alonso IMO has gone backwards, he was useless against the Hammers.. His passing was s.*i*e and he really has frustrated me. If Rafa leaves he'll follow, I dont think hes cutting the mustard anymore. Riise instead of Aurelio whom cannot defend and is an even bigget liability than Riise. Crouch up top with Torres, meanwhile I'd be telling Kuyt to head off to Melwood and get in some shotting practise, I wouldnt let him anywhere near the team.

Van Basten drops Kuyt from squad

Netherlands coach Marco van Basten left striker Dirk Kuyt out of a 21-man squad named on Friday for next week's friendly against Croatia.

Kuyt made his debut under Van Basten in Sept. 2004 and won 35 caps during the 43 matches with him as coach.

But the striker has scored only seven goals for Liverpool this season and has not found the net in his last 11 games.

His absence from the game in Split on Wednesday, which is designed to help the squad prepare for UEFA EURO 2008, also reflects a change of system by Van Basten.

"The system we had can be compared with Liverpool's ... and his performances are not good enough" Van Basten told reporters.

"We will now move on with a sort of 4-2-3-1 system."

Arjen Robben and Robin van Persie are still out through injury but Van Basten expects them to be back soon at club level.

EURO 2008 will be Van Basten's final matches as national coach and he also spared a thought for his own future.

"I spoke with Ajax already and told them I am interested but the club said there also are other candidates," he said.

"We made a second appointment but that will be with my agent and I will not be present."

The Dutch also will play Austria, Ukraine, Denmark and Wales in friendly matches before starting the tournament on June 9 against world champions Italy in Berne, Switzerland.

Reina

Finnan                          Hypia                   Skrtel                    Riise

Pennant                        Masch                  Gerrard                 Aurelio

                                   Torres                  Kuyt

Yes , drop carra for this game , he needs a rest and it's beginning to show . Riise and aurelio can keep switching from left back to left mid and the sunderland players won't know who is where at what postion . It will be like eboue and sagna at arsenal. Kuyt will be a man with something to prove after being dropped from the holland squad and i fancy him to score and create . I'm predicting a romp , especially now that we have virtually only 4th place to play for and i will go for a 5-0 , with a torres , kuyt , riise possbily even gerrard on the scoresheet .

I hope that Rafa realizes what Van Basten has realized and that is Kuyt is not good enough.  But I wonder why everyone thinks that Kuyt should not play so deep, and yet both the managers used him all over the place.  Anyway, I hope that Rafa gets rid of him because he's seriously hurting Rafa's future at this club.
