Anyway hope rafa sees that when a team parks the bus...we need players on the wings to stretch the defence apart....We have one on the left (Reira)...we have another one who isn't even among the subs (pennant)....When are you gonna see the light beneitz...?  :Oo:

Not really true mate,in fact not true at all!
There were plenty of good high crosses and loads of corners(not all good) but besides that, the fact they were superior in the air due to height and making easy pickings of anything we put in at height called for a change in tactics!
Either a more direct approach, basically to try and play through them or to take the ball to the line and cut it back in hard and low.Making them defend low balls facing their own net would have gave us more chances and caused more panic.
Sadly the high balls kept coming and we were never gonna score from them!

The reason why we can't break teams like Stoke down is simple....... we have no-one with game intelligence. Gerrard is probably one of the finest players to ever wear the red shirt, but the one thing he lacks is game intelligence, its also the reason I said Keane isn't a creative second striker. Alonso is one of the best passers of a ball in the world , but again he suffers from lack of that same vital ingredient. Its the reason the mancs paid £32million for Berbatov and will no doubt pay the same for Tevez.

Your first sentence is too harsh on our players IMO. Keane and Torres had in their boots chances that not only they wouldn't miss normally but actually many (not only Berbatov) other strikers of the league would have scored, glorious chances. Our strikers today didn't score, a bad day in the office, but nothing more.

You are missunderstanding me as usual Sabre. I am not talking about players scoring (although that always helps) I am talking about our players not having the game intelligence to create chances rather than hoping for a 20 yarder from Gerrard, a bit of individual brilliance from Torres or a knee from Kuyt. Most of our chances today came from hit and hope crosses or they were from outside the box.

No, I don't misunderstand you usually  and neither have I this time

I think it's harsh to say of our squad that "we have no-one with game intelligence". Actually it's something I disagree with totally. Yesterday we did create those chances, we just didn't score them. Yes, just like we criticize Kuyt and Alonso we also must be able to tell when Torres and Keane haven't their game. Because you know, like any other player in the world, there are games in which they don't have their day. YOu know that right?  ???

Fair enough if you didn't misunderstand me, you are simply WRONG.

You scousers really are full of :censored:. I mean, why are you and your shitty manager (who for some reason always rotates players) still complaining? You had over 80 minutes score a goal, yet you didn't. Get over yourselves -- you battered us, but our players battled and really well deserved.

You're not good enough win the league this season.

Unless the rules sudenly changed I thought a game was 90 minutes plus the 3 minutes added on meant we wasted 93 minutes trying to score against a very poor Stoke side.

What planet do you come from mate?

Mate you are entitled to your opinion. But do not come on here and insult us.

Fair play you defended well, got behind the ball and made it hard. But you are not good enough to even be in the league let alone win it and that is why you play like this for 90% of your away games and 50% of your home ones.

Haha -- whatever. I don't think it matters -- you had world class players out there. So what if we had nearly all our men behind the ball -- it worked, didn't it? ;)

We'll see you down the Brit -- come on you mighty potters!!! We are staying up!!!

Good luck to you mate, I hope you do. It's been a long time since you were back in the top division, and if you can come up and stay up it gives hope to all the other teams of a similar size.

Also, I hope you defend just as well at Chelsea, Man Utd and Arsenal. Hopefully, you can nick a point or two off them as well. Like I say, good luck to you but no need to come on here being silly is there?

Cheers. I aren't being silly I'm just saying that I believe we're good enough stay up. If we do, then we'll buy better players.

Good luck for the rest of the season. :)

I highly doubt so mate , yes you will if you defend as well as you did against LFC against the top teams in the league , rather unlucky against everton last week though .
