rafa is banging on about focusing on this game and using Stoke as an example after we beat the Mancs.  Hopefully this will get the players focused as three points will keep the pressure but a draw would be a dissapointment after yesterdays result.

Portsmouth are a good team and will be up for it so we have to be aware but we are better and if we are as motivated as we were yesterday we should win.

Confidence and that swagger is the one thing we have missed, and after yesterdays tactical outhinking of Chelsea the players must have belief in Rafa and belief in themselves

This is the kind of game we can just :censored: up on, and the fact that Hull and Chelsea are playing could really work to our advantage.  Unless of course Hull plays like a Championship teams and gets thrashed, but if they do play like a 2nd place team these 3 points can be more handy then we thought!

Let's not :censored: this one up, we can def. do this!  Even if it is as though Crouch will be playing a home game, let's hope he passes to Stevie a little  :p

Babel for Keane in the only change with Keane being rested (he's been carrying a niggle and not been well), Torres on the bench and maybe used for last 15-20 mins. Depending on how the game pans out I can see Gerrard being rested for part of the game as well!

Don't think I would want Torres on the bench. I know that players warm up before they come on and everything, but is it the same? would it not be safer to tell him he is starting and will be taken off at halftime for Babel. that way he can mentally and physically prepare for that the whole day instead of wondering if he is going to come on or not and warming up with the other subs just off the touch line.  Not a physio though, so its just me speculating (surprise surprise)

The result of this game will say more about our title credentials than the Chelsea win imo.

The ability to follow up a big win with another win is what wins titles.  Not getting 3 points in this one takes away from the good work done at Chelsea and would be a disaster.

I think Portsmouth are a dangerous team and this is not an easy game.  They have a lot of pace and power in their side and a very good strike duo, so we need to be careful.  The departure of Redknapp makes them a wounded animal, which is always dangerous.

Having said that, if we maintain the level of performance shown against Chelsea they won't be able to handle us.  I think some of our players are genuinely starting to believe they can win the title this season, and they'll show no complacency in this game.

I think we should be okay, I wonder if we should play Hyypia to deal with Crouch though he could be a headache if they provide him enough service.

My Powers have to recover from the Chelsea result. If I start too many match threads, my hair could fall out and my balls may fall off.

Its all part of the magic.

Lets have faith in StMichael's match thread abilities.
We can do it it here too.

A nervy 2-1 for Lpool.

We need to take this game as seriously as the Chelsea game. Too often have we followed up on a good performance with a shyte performance which makes everyone scratch their heads but we cant pass this chance up now. Who knows Hull could even do us a favour aswell.

I really hope Babel gets a chance playing up front. He shaped up very well when he came on v's Chelsea and nearly scored a cracker.
Dont want to see him getting frustrated by a lack of first team football.
