yes it is.....liverpool were all over them in the 2nd half......benitez must take the blame here

ciise on the right was pretty much useless...he should be in the box finishing the chances that gerrard missed.

gerrard on the right and ciise as a striker

lets just take one game as it goes, it WAS a tough away game and we did keep a clean sheet. It WAS an away game after an away european game and its way better than losing to palace or southampton at home like we did last season. And last season, we lost this fixture, so its already an improvement.

Not saying that im entirely happy with the result, especially with boro down to 10men for the last 25mins or so and gerrard should have put at least one of those headers away. But overall, i'll say we could have done better but the result isnt a complete disappointment either.

come on we`ve drawn away for f@cks sake!!
before this season ends we`ll have worse results than that.
boro away has been a tough game for us traditionally and we ended up dominating the game. not ideal but not the end of the world either.

I'm sure there will be plenthy of optimistic posts about it being the first game of the season etc. but when the dust has settled tomorrow evening we'll be already 2 points behind the top three.

Benitez should have put Gerrard out on the right and Cisse up front with Baros for the last 20 minutes.

yeah i agree, just a pain because Boro were looking to play for the draw from the off.  They are at home ffs!

no use blaming benitez on this, he wins us matches, he loses us matches, he gets draws for us. We just got to take things as a whole package.

Anyway, no use talking abt what might have been. You can't say for sure that Cisse would DEFINITELY have scored if he were at the end of those crosses rather than Gerrard anyway.

i don't think so, it was a counter attack system.  Rafa obviously anticipated Boro to attack (being the first day of the season and them playing at home) but they didn't!  Hence he changed things around, but i can't believe Boro went for a draw from the 1st min.  Joke side!

Considering it was boro, whom i rate as above average along with tottenham, it was SUPPOSED to be a tough away fixture, so i dun really blame benitez for naming his starting line up.

But the !@#@ Boro decided to play for a draw on thei own ground. They even played a short corner and tried to hold the ball in the corner when it was 4mins into injury time and liverpool had no players in the boro half. ffs...

0-0 1 point is a very good result for us, believe it or not away first home game against boro, arsenal, chelsea and manure are going to get score draws also, of course I am dissappointed that we didnt get 3 points, but 1 point is better than none, and last season this cr@p defending outfit beat us 2-0 at the Riverside, so we cant turn our noses up at a clean sheet TBH, lets hope we collect more clean sheets along the way.
The last 20 minutes we played great and no goals where going in the net today even if we played for the next 24 hours, it just wasnt to be.
Be happy we didnt get beat, but Rafa has to play 2 upfront for games now away from home otherwise it is going to be a repeat from last season, and Cisse should only be on the wing till we get a player to fit into that roll.
Cisse is a 14 million pound striker not a winger, but I am sure its only tempary.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

I was pleased with everything i saw in the second half, we would have walked away with the win if Gerrard hadn't been tugged down.  This is the team we lost to home and away last season, and we totally dominated them, look at the positives today and let Benitez look after the details.  Bring on the best !  My only thought was where was Riise today?

We did not dominate until Boro were down to ten men. I was pretty disappointed before then. I hope the five man midfield in the EPL only applies to top six(ish) sides away from home at the most. I hate watching Cisse on the right wing. We did look a bit more solid though than many of our away games last year.

I'll be happy with one point at away games against boro, chelski, arsenal and spurs as well.

but only 3 points will do at old trafford and goodison so i can laugh my socks off.  :rasp
