I really hope Rafa got all his rotation out now, because you can see as soon as one line up starts to get a flow and is on the verge of scoring its switched, and the momentum needs to build again.

Run on sentance, I know.

Scrappy first half, and we never really kicked on second half like I expected. Good run out for a lot of players anyway. Man of match Darby for the saving tackle first half and Carra for a couple in the second half. I thought Kuyt had a very good game too. Pacheco showed again why he is on the verge of breaking through with a few good touches again.

i saw the 1st half and thought we looked more fluent than we usually do this time in pre season. the defense also looked more ready than we normally look this stage of pre season. i can only go by the 1st half but it looks to me we are nearly ready make a good start to the new season.

voronin once again looks comfortable in pre season playing non english teams.ngog looks a bit raw but he seemed to pop up in all the right places..even if he missed. the only thing missing for me is the same thing from last season aka we need an intelligent creative director who has a few things new up his sleeve to do the unlocking in tight games.

That's the first pre-season game i've watched all the way through. Clearly it's still about fitness with the manager using something like 23-24 players so it's hard to draw any real conclusions as is always the case this time of year. Still, a few good pointers

- I liked Plessis again, this kid looks a real class act. He reads the game well, always looks like he's got time on the ball and he's always available for the pass. Very mature player considering his age.

- Keane was lively (as you'd expect) and you can see we've got another leader on the pitch already. Several times tonight you will have seen him lay the ball off and then immediately point to let the man in possession know where the ball should be going next. We need more of that in the side (every side does) and only Gerrard and Carra do it on a regular basis.

- Pacheco is full of potential and i really hope he (and the likes of Darby, Nemeth, Plessis and Insua) get a run out in the League Cup this year.

- Kuyt looked full of confidence, just like a man who finished the season well and then had a good Euro Championships.

I didn't expect quite so many changes, but there you go. These games are played in order to help us gear up in terms of fitness, mentality, organisation etc... So, not much to say really, although we seem to have continued our trend of last season - too many draws, lack of cutting edge. I wouldn't worry about it though.

I just hope going into the final three games we can establish more of a first team, which I think we will - as the Spanish players, along with Dossena/Keane/Kuyt are now on the road to getting their fitness levels back.

Not bad to watch just got to say though im becoming a big fan of young Derby. Nice to see the Spanish lads back and made up to see Xabi on the pitch i thought he played really well considering the spec thats surrounding him just shows you what a good pro he is ,
