Rafa sometimes makes strange decisions for which he only knows the answer....

Arbeloa in the 90th min of the champions league final ?

I think voroin should have also made the bench. He is more of a impact player than crouch. Like what has been mentioned....crouch struggles to impose himself when he comes in as a sub.

I’d imagine Benitez bought Pennant off because Pennant was getting hot headed on the pitch, which could have led to a rash lunge and a second yellow card. Is this another post designed to have a sly criticism of Benitez? I felt Benitez set the team up accordingly and the team came out of the blocks well, the problem was not taking chances.

Kuyt and Alonso had fabulous chances to put the game beyond all doubt; both were squandered as per usual. There is no reason to criticise Benitez today, because his tactics and team selection was very good, very capable of collecting the three points.

I thought we played well, but sat back a little after we scored and let Chelsea take over. Kuyt worked hard and had to drop deeper as our midfield was getting overrun by Chelsea's. We should have brought Mascherano on for the second half, as he was needed. I am not overly impressed by Kuyts first touch, but his effort was second to none.

Gerrard was outstanding until he faded a bit late in the game. I am still not happy with the Alonso and Gerrard partnership though. Riise again worked hard but to little effect, his inability to beat a player really does hamper his game and hard work.

Torres took his goal well and worked hard for little or no reward, he really needed better support than he got, as he won his fair share of headers and challenges but had no-one near enough to take any advantage.

Defensively I thought we were sound, and coped with that tw@t Drogba much better than in the past.

2 Points lost as we were the better side(Rob'd in Style)but a very promising performance.

Not bad at all. I am happy with the result.

The ref however was tragic and cost us the points, but at this stage of the season I am happy to take a point.

We will beat them at their place. No problem. :)

Listen lads and ladies!!

We should all be content...im not saying happy, but in the least pleased today with the result.

We should all be delighted with our teams performance from the whistle..they done us proud!
The problem yet again was the referee.I just feel that refs at times make big games soooo much harder on themselves by showing a card too early.
Once this effort of a ref showed the 1st card in a game with so many passions involved it was gonna be a mess.Every tackle with an ounce of passion was apparently a foul..a booking. It was a total mess of a game spoilt by an official that stuck to the book in a game when any sensible ref leaves the book in his changing room.

What a fu.cking mess.
This season the FA promised a lot of things..it looks to me like they can promise to ruin all the big games with useless and incompetent refs every season with consistancy..in fact they are more consistant than any player in the league.....

All but Stevie'sore toe' Gerrard!

What a game our captain had..he was everywhere and involved in everything...he is everything LFC!

Im fuc.king ragging here we bossed that game and deserved 3 points...Aw well could be worse, one may support UTD! :D  :rasp

nothing wrong with criticising rafa...

i'm a rafa fan and i will keep him for at least 6 years before i think about sacking him if i owned liverpool... but pennant was torturing cole again... plus babel looks better playing on right... plus riise wasn't doing too well... so i would have replaced riise with babel... instead of replacing pennant... and if you intend to bring on crouch... it makes even more sense to keep a winger who can cross... other than that rafa did a good job...

I am absolutely fuming today, i believed we would win, and firstly the performance by the lads has to congratulated. We controlled the game for the most part, and kept the :censored: quiet. Rafa did everthing regarding the prep for the game, but how the :censored: can you prepare for a lobotomised pile of caked smeg, posing a referee?

:censored: the Kuyt bashing, today he performed the role that Rafa had asked from him, performed better than the soul glow dog, replace him with Crouch, unless Terry was missing no chance. This was a :censored: physical game and Crouch is not up to it, and until he decides to get his finger out his :censored: and and pack the muscle he will never be first choice.

Rob styles is a lying :censored:, he LIED about the second yellow and just for that he should be struck off, he should have had the balls to say i had a sh!t game. The :censored: eunuch could have told the Chelsea rent boys to get away from him or get sent off, but no, he allowed himself to be intimidated.

The penalty decision is the worst decision i have ever seen, by a country mile, he was 5 yards away, he was looking for it, i, and many of you, thought the same, he was itching to give them something, i'm serious he must have been bought.

Is there a new rule that i have missed? Did fat basta rd fwank only come on to take the pen? because he was no where to be seen, anyone who compares him to SG needs to be taken out back and beaten with a rubber hose, he is not fit to be on the same side, he's carried by Essien and Mikel.

Its not good enough to be happy with a point, because that gimp has cost us 2, and it could be vital at the end of the season.
Rant over.
