More good portents had the MP3 players going on the walk in today and there was only enough time for two songs:

1) Hard to Beat (Hard-Fi)
2) God Put A Smile Upon Your Face (Coldplay)

Now, call me deluded but I read that to mean we are going to be very stingy defensively tonight and that Fowler will pop up with the winning goal deep in extra time!

5 hours to go ,come on redmen, although i'm pooing myself ,i feel strangely confident for tonight , 3-0 to the mighty reds. Very optamistic i know but i feel good about tonight.

I too am feeling strangley confident. I think Crouch might do well tonight. We need to be getting some good crosses into him and also freekicks around their area to deliver good crosses from. Bolton showed how weak they are on saturday and with Carvalho out i think we will get more success. Playing at Anfield and with the crosses flying in to Crouch they will be under pressure and i think we could see some big penalty claims.

Come on lad blow them away.

Just popped into the library from the pub, getting a bit too lashed too early. Full of Sh!tski scum down this way, 6 of us outsinging the lot of them, not the greatest when I've just recovered from a throat infection

Don't care though, alcohol will get me through tonight, can worry about my throat in the morning.

For those aficionados who read my LFC blogs regularly you may have noticed my comments re.Chelsea Flags at their recent CL games. I implied they were probably sold on the streets outside Stamford Bridge for a fiver but I've since discovered that Chelsea FC placed them on the seats as a freebie in the vain hope that it would somehow cultivate a colourful atmosphere and help with the atmosphere. 

Liverpool FC have picked up on this highly innovative idea and issued flags to supporters and here's ours!

Alas I jest, it is in fact our flag for tonights game and for the eagle eyed amoungst you , you will have noticed the 6th CL Star conveniently placed in the bottom right hand corner. We toyed with the idea of having TBA or TBC sewn at the side of the empty star but I'll credit you with a bit of common sense ! 

Whatever happens tonight I'm sure you will enjoy the spectacle that is the KOP on European nights. There are no words that eloquently describe the atmosphere on the KOP except to say that for thsoe who have been fortunate enough to experience it, it has no comparision.

I'm surprisingly calm about tonight's game but don't read that as complacency. We are in for a titanic battle but as I've learned from experience of following this great club we tend to win most of them. Lets hope tonights another victory on the road to that elusive 6th star!


Theres little more to be said than to look out for our flag on the box (Left hand side of the world famous KOP near the Scoreboard) and "enjoy" the night !
