Doesn't matter.

This is a European game, not a Premiership game. We're 1-0 down and need to get amoungst them as quickly as possible and to get down their throats. A packed centre with width at both sides with a third attacking threat in the shape of Gerrard right off the front two, smack bang in the middle, would be a statement of intent that we mean buisiness to go out and batter them until they concede. We may not start like that, but things could pan out that way just as they did in Istanbul.  Usually it were Garcia that filled that role just off the front men. We don't have that luxury this time, and we need our most creative player we have running with the ball in that possition, and that player is SG.

Agree we need to score a quick goal then go for the throat !
The last thing we want is to score early then sit back and pass it sideways till extra time or penalties, they will be expecting us to play a patient waiting game, trying to entice them forward so we can counter.

Lets just rip into them from the start, firdst into the tackle ,first onto the second ball. Hit them hard and fast, if we start nervous then they will sense it and it will give them confidence. Whatever we think of them we know they are more than capable of scoring a goal, lets make it irrelevant

They claim to know all about our fans and what to expect, lets not dissapoint them

saint...   we cant hope chelsea dont score,  the chances are they will score,  we have to go all out from the start at a high tempo...   im being honest now when i say we need to score 3 goals against them in 90 mins,   we cant afford to mess about against chelsea, and then pay the price for a silly mistake late on...   i hope they dont score against us...   but in saying all this...  we are good enough to score 3 against them.   :;):

Problem is mate I honestly don't think we are good enough up front to score 3 in normal time. I would settle here and now for 1-0 and extra time.

i know where your'e  coming from mate,  i agree with you, it will be hard to score 3 in normal time...
but mate i just want an honest performance from start to finish,   its verry important the way we play because we are the home team...   :;):

LONDON (Reuters) - Portugal defender Ricardo Carvalho will miss Chelsea's Champions League semi-final second leg against Liverpool on Tuesday after injuring his knee, manager Jose Mourinho said.

Carvalho went down after a tackle by Bolton's Kevin Davies in the first half of Chelsea's 2-2 Premier League home draw with on Saturday and was substituted by Frank Lampard. Davies was booked.

"It's bad...it's his knee," Mourinho said. "He's been our best defender the whole season. It's as simple as that," the Portuguese coach said. "We lost in Liverpool in the Premiership without him."

Good, pity drogba didnt get hit by a flying ant and he'd be gone for the game and the rest of the season..........

I really dread the thought of a Chelsea v The Filth final. Either one of those teams lifting Big Ears would be an awful sight.

It MUST NOT happen!

Hi all, new to this forum business.

Just wanted to comment briefly...........

Looking forward to the 2nd leg at anfield this tuesday........

I was stood at the front of the kop two years ago when luis sent us through to the final, I've been to a few matches at anfield over the years - I've never seen anything like the atmoshphere created that night anywhere in the world.

I can't get a ticket for this years second leg, BUT I will be there in spirit like many.

To anyone going this tuesday - make sure you do anfield justice, there aren't many more opportunities like this left for Anfield. Maybe 3 years tops until the new stadium, so make sure you sing your hearts out no matter what.

Best of luck to the lads,

There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.
