Mascherano is immense tonight. Every time Chelski get the ball in the middle of the park, we're treated to the sight of the Monster Masch sliding at high velocity on his backside towards it. He's the reason we're not being kept on the back foot, and why the absence of Sissoko is not really apparent.

wouldn't be the choice i'd have made.

was thinking alonso should have come on for mash. Not that mash is having a bad game, its just Pennant is one of our main threats and has provided some good crosses today - and if we aver need another goal, you could quite easily see it coming from the right hand side

but seems we're going for more control, less attacking

I agree...Mascherano has played well tonight but Pennant has been creating a lot of chances.

I think that the idea behind the Pennant substitution is for us to get a death-grip on the game and force it to penalties. Let's hope Reina struts his funky stuff once more.
