Tough game..... Chelsea under Hiddink is a different kettle of fish to the side we beat twice in the premiership this year.

Can't deny the difference he's made since taking over.
They have won 7 times in the 9 games they've played under his tutelage.
Drew once with Juventus when they only needed a draw and were desperately unlucky to lose to Spurs.

Make no mistake about it, they are undeniably a very strong team that leaks very few goals. In  Hiddink, they have a manager who may just be a match for Rafa in Europe. On current form, we should still nick it but this is far from being a walk in the park.

C'MON YOU RED MEN!!!!!

I know its hard not to get over confident considering the way we have been playing and considering our results against them this season but i can see it coming back to bite us in the ar se unless we are very careful and dont get too cocky

These games are always incredibly tight. I think I'm right in saying that whenever we've played them in the CL, neither side has ever scored more than 1 goal in the 90 minutes?

I'd take 1-0 now. Even 0-0 is not the end of the world. The most important thing is not conceding.

Hiddink has come out and said that Chelsea are going to attack, if this is true it will leave spaces at the back which should be good news for us. I can see them playing 5 in midfield with Drogba up front on his own

A chelsea player has never scored in a CL game at Anfield either.

Could very well be pointing to a 1:0 win like  :)

I am curious if Rafa will let Gerrard 'of the leash' as he has done recently culminating in so many goals scored. Or will he be cautious hence probabaly making this a tight game? I think given we are away in the 2nd leg and taking into account how well we have performed with Stevie in that advanced role we should perhaps try to kill the game of in the 1st leg. We put 4 past Real Madrid and 4 past Utd so there is no reason why we canno't score a few against Chelsea as well. They are also a team on the shakes so I think we have a great chance. I think if we hold back and play it tight we could regret come the away leg.

Anyone can score an own goal mate, just ask Stevie and Carra. We should not be worried about that. Let's just keep a clean sheet and get 3 goals.  :)

Those Black diamonds Essien and Dogbreath hurt us alot in the 2nd leg last year. We have to keep them quite in both legs this time, specially Essien.
