Agger and Alonso are out so id play the same team that we played midweek. Gerrard will get more of the ball on saturday because the birmingham defence wont be as good as portos so we could see more shots from him. Torres pace will be too much for the back 4 of birmingham and can see him scoring a couple.

Ill go for 3-0 Torres(2) Hyypia

Important game this week with Man Utd and Chelsea going heads up. Arsenal have Derby at home so this is a must win.

I would line up like this, one change from midweek:

                    Reina

Finnan        JC       Hyppia       Arbeloa

Benayoun    Mash    Gerrard     Babel

                Torres     Kuyt

Good luck lads!

Yep totally agree with your selection, just a note of caution tho, although we hammered them in the FA cup away from home Birmingham have been some what of a bogey team for us in the prem, still think we will hammer them tho :)

Would be nice if it was a comfortable win but we will see. Got a feeling Gerrard will be on top of his game tomorrow.

Although i havnt picked them in my starting eleven, i wouldnt be surprised if Riise started and also Pennant.  Think he might give Pennant an opportunity to correct his mistake, especially against his old club.

If i was a betting man, Babel to score!

Yeah we are in a terrible bad spell!! :D

Undefeated so far this season....And the only goals that have been conceeded against us are 3 penalties.

How is that a bad spell?

Some people are just never happy......

If you want fantasy football where your team wins 5-0 every game go and read Roy of the Rovers!

The present 'gloom' hanging over proceedings has been brought about because Arsenal have gone top. Many dismissed their chances early season (which it still is of course) and all hope is lost! 2 points behind and a similar amount of games played.

Added to, two poor performances on the road against Portsmouth and Porto - with 'signs' of an impending blip on the horizon have only served to compound matters. Throw in the loss of two key personel and all hell's set to break out tomorrow should 3 points be squandered.

Even allowing for that, i don't think there is ANY cause for pessimism just yet. If it IS , just a case of ironing out the creases which have developed by and large because of the continuous interruptions on behalf of the international break...
Then i would expect normal service to resume, pretty much straight away.

The thing is though - we've been here before havn't we. The domino effect. Any number of the excuses above will 'mist' the viewfinder up sufficiently for 'some' supporters...Every club will go through a sticky spell. Fingers crossed ours (if it can be quantified as such) can be rode out with as little disruption as possible. Before there really is something to moan about. Because it can and perhaps will get a hell of a lot worse than this...or not.

Reality check folks.

Exactly!!

And may i add that if anything playing 'poorly' on the road and still not getting defeated is a major sign that we have improved.
Sometimes performances can be poor and matches can be terrible to watch...but when a team comes away from these games undefeated it is a sign of strength and mettle!

I know its a cliche but...Playing badly and not getting beat is a sign of greatness!
We are on our way to greatness!!  :D

While it doesn't look it on paper, this is a massive game. United play Chelsea, and points will be dropped in that game.

It's crucial for us to get this win and capitalize on their mistakes.

I'd take a 1-0 win. No messing about, playing the strongest team. We have no reason not to.
