LIVERPOOL VS BENFICA - PRE MATCH DISCUSSION

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

WHat's all this long-ball b*llocks?

Surely Rafa must know that a long ball is stupid with Fowler upfront?

Why wasn't Crouch on to combat that Lusio tw*t?

We need to get things f*cking sorted upfront and when defending set-pieces.
It's stupid putting balls over the top for Mori and Rob, and it's stupid getting caught out by the tallest bloke on the pitch. Hardly a suprise that he'd be the one to score from a free kick was it?

I feel for Beni when the players f*ck up like that. He was almost as p*ssed off as I was.
That Greek tw*t Kasardis or whatever his f*cking name is was a right drama queen. Shoot the fecker in the head.

B*stard Benfica.
(Now lets wait for the silly-a*se fans to come and goad us.)

Service like many games was poor.  U cant expect the defence to keepa clean sheet every game.  I dont think we attack in numbers and the strikers being blamed all the time is BS.  Strikers need service and too often our forwards dont get enough quality service.

Apart from the goal we looked solid at the back, but guess what you need to score goals to win games and we never even looked close to that.

If i was a benfica fan I wouldnt be all that worried about the second leg on Liverpools performance tonight.

(But we all know differently :;): )

I am not so sure about what you say concerning Robbie. I think he was no worse than any of the others and a lot of the 'mistakes' you saw him making were due to poor passing. Certainly several occasions spring to mind where the ball was drilled at him from close range, or to feet as he was on the turn, or even with his back to the ball.

Either that or 20 yards in front of him. Even the jackass of a commentator spotted that wasn't the way to go.

As JC just said, this is only the first half.

Alot can happen in 90 minutes at anfield, more so when you have a crowd that does more than just whistle for 90 minutes.

Strange game, we were very good in defence and in the centre of midfield but were disapointing out wide and even though Morientes and Fowler put in a lot of hard work, they offered nothing by way of a threat.

Garcia,Kewell were terrible today.Poor touch, passes and jus had an overall shocking game.We just didnt look like we were going to score today, poor performance.

We should beat them at home though as we did run the game and outplayed them evrywhere.

well if you are going to play the long ball, at least put your basket ball player up front so it can bounce off him every now and then  :D

Have to laugh at the almost as fed up as I was comment.....magic.

Disappointing result against a poor team.

I'm still confident however that at Anfield, we can do the business.

again, I have tried to stay off the Garcia bandwagon, but I almost put my foot through the TV tonight just to see if I could kick him.

Either he starts learning to use the ball, or he has to go.

Bloody hell, our strikers need to watch some videos of Mr Henry.  That was a bloody cracking goal.

surely you can't be happy with the way your team conducted themselves tonight? I am not making excuses for us, but I wouldn't be happy if we approached the game as you did.

Well, what a crappy game. Koeman is not going to hang around for long, despite the win.
Now, it's counter attack for the seond leg, with Miccoli and Geo back in business, and hopefully Beto out of the team.
You guys play some tight defense, but your attack, wow, you didn't even try, and you could've done alot better.
