Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Well here we go,a win tonight should surely cement or route into the knockout stages!Heres the group as it stands
                P  W  D  L  Pts
Chelsea      3  2   1  0   7
Champs      3  2   1  0   7
R Betis       3  1   0  2   3
Anderlecht  3  0   0  3   0

Have to fancy us and Chelsea to go through now,i expect a win for both ourselves and them tonight!
Dont really expect too much from Anderlecht at Anfield with no disrespect to them i think we will win quite comfortably!

Much as i'd love to see it i cant think Betis will turn over the new scum as i dont feel a team lying in the bottom 4 of their domestic league has what it takes!!
So that should be it then Us and them through and maybe a chance for us to beat them in the final this year to add insult to injury...how sweet would that be??

Heard that Gerrard is likely to start on the right again and hopefully its true as he played well there on sat and we have plenty other options in CMF!
I suppose its hard to be sure what team Raffa will pick tonight but id love to see pretty much what he started with on Sat!!
Anyways bring it on and come on the Pool!! :buttrock  :buttrock
A comfortable 3-1 win for me 10/1 at Ladbrookes Btw!! :D

I wonder what price an unchanged team Barry. We all know Raffas full of suprises, but Iwould be happy with the same again and Morrientas to bag a couple.

Considering it's something like 40 games since Liverpool fielded an unchanged side, 1000/1 is a fair price

I think that Harry Kewell and Stephen Warnock will be back in the squad.

Iddefo be keeping the same 11 for tonights game, they have to attack and i think using Garcia and Gerrard down the flanks and cisse and morientes upfront we could really exploit these tonight and i reckon we could get a decent win.

We gained more confidence the longer we played West Ham and i reckon that will show tonight, i am predicting a hiding for Anderlecht, 4 nil to the reds and Cisse 1st goal. And fernando will bag as well

I would deffinately go with the team that started on saturday. The team actually seemed to play with a little understanding of each other. particularly the three amigos, Xabi, Nando and Louis. We cut out a lot of the wasted possesion that has plagued us recently and looked like a far more cohesive unit.

I hope this proves to be a glimpse of the shape of things to come, if so we might just start to turn it around. I'm looking for a convincing win tonight to help boost the confidence further. The lads shouldn't let us down (I hope!!!).

it would be nice to see Crouch and Nando get 1 or 2 give them a bit of confidence.

Come On The Reds

there loads of Anderlecht fans in town as well so am guessing they'll be making a bit of noise later.

Hi from Belgium
I'm not really an anderlecht fan (I support their eternal rivals Club Brugge), but obviously I do hope anderlecht will win today.
I just hope they won't have their 10th (is it 10th? I lost track) consecutive champions league defeat. Sometimes I wonder why we even bother to compete against teams that have a budget that is 10 times as big as ours. (and that's Liverpool I'm talking about, don't get me started on Chelsea).
It's a shame that big belgian clubs like Brugge or Anderlecht, with millions of fans, can't have a european top team, but I guess the league is just too small.
Anyway if anderlecht loses again, I hope that it helps liverpool in winning the group stage.
