Hope he does stick with the same team, but can't see it after an international week.  Injured players will definately need to be replaced.  Warnock in for Riise and if Garcia is injured i'd stick Zenden on the left and keep Gerrard right.  I'd like to play Kewell but don't think he'll be back from Oz in time.

Pongo and Crouchy up-front. I still reckon it could be our most effective combo up front.

i would like to see how that works out, it would be interesting to see how the two would play together.  They could be a good pairing.

We don't have any injured players[other than a minor injury Riise has] which is good, I'm hoping that we stick with the same line up we've had in the past two Premiership games.

I don't expect us to put on a class performance for obvious reasons, more of a scrapy game.

reina
finnan

garcia

gerrard
crouch
morientes

and i predict a 3-0 win
crouch to get his first goal! (and jump into the kop)

Harry won't play. He's played 60 mins in Montevideo, then had a long flight back to Australia to play for 90 mins in the return leg. Plus all the aussies would've gone out celebrating on Wednesday night, I can't see Kewell being ready for Saturday.

Considering all the unavailibilities, the most probably team would be:

                    Reina

Finnan  Carragher  Hyypia  Warnock

Gerrard  Alonso  Sissoko  Zenden

           Garcia  Morientes

SUBS: Carson, Hamann, Crouch, Cisse, Traore.

Riise fit to play

Liverpool defender John Arne Riise has been passed fit to face Portsmouth at Anfield this weekend.
There were fears Riise would miss the match after taking a knock on his head towards the end of Norway's World Cup qualifier with the Czech Republic in midweek.

Riise was substituted as a precaution but the Liverpool medical staff have declared him fit for selection tomorrow when the Reds will go in search of their third straight Premiership victory.

Rafael Benitez reported no fresh injury worries following the international break and has virtually a full squad to select from for the clash with Alain Perrin's side.

Finnan                                  JC                          Sami                                Riise

        Gerrard                           Alonso                 Hamann/Sissoko                 Garcia

                                          Cisse                        Mori

playing. This side should walk all over Portsmouth. (Whether they do or not is a different matter!!!!!)

hamann over sissoko, with alonso and gerard we have the legs and skill to run the game, where as hamann offers a bit of technical ability and class which sissoko lacks at the moment, dont get me wrong sissoko does look like a gud player

Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.        BILL SHANKLY
