Newcastle are in good form, 4 wins in 10 days but they have been more inconsistant than we have this season.

We obiviously need to bounce back after the defeat to Birmingham in the league and we simply can not afford to slip up if we have any intentions on catching up to Neverton.

There is no reason why we shouldn't be able to collect all three points, we've done it against Charlton rescently on the road therefore we should be able to beat Newcastle on the road as well.

Team selection:

                        Dudek
Finnan     Carragher       Hyypia    Traore[if fit]

Nunez      Hamann         Gerrard     Riise

              Morientes      Baros

Subs:
-Carson
-Kewell
-Luis Garcia
-Warnock
-La Tallec

Massive game. They are in great form, and have quality in their side. We haven't won four games in a row all season.

We'll do well to get three points but nothing else will do.

Agree with an attacking 4-4-2 but would play Garcia in preference to Nunez on the right.

There comes a stage where we have to really win a game this season and this game is it. If we lose and Everton win then we can forget 4th place. Its as simple as that. We need to set down a marker and get a good run going, and a draw is the absolute minimum requirement. Really, we need to win the game: at this stage if we are going to get 4th place we need a few decent results such as an away win at St. James' Park.

Wouldn't mind a 4-3 thriller with Morientes scoring the winner in injury time.

Nail-less anyway after Sunday and with Bayern coming up - what the hell!

win over Newcastle, win over Southampton, win over West brom. Three in a row, close enough. But we have been unbeaten in four games I believe. [I think we played Portsmouth before we played Newcastle which was a draw]

We can get six points before we play Everton [we play Newcastle and Blackburn before playing them] and if we beat them then the gap will surely be cut down and the race for fourth place will get on like it did last season against Newcastle.

liverpool fc shouldnt be fighting for 4th place. we shud be fighting for 2nd or 3rd...its not good fighting with our bitter rivals for 4th place. but anyway we have got to get it. so come on reds.. :D

I think RB will play 5 in the midfield . Maybe this time he will let Baros play in the first half .

I don't think Rafa will go with a five man midfield this time. What is clear to me is that Biscan and Gerrard can't play well along one another.

He used a 4-5-1 against Chelsea because I think the objective was to score first and prevent Chelsea from attacking from the counter attack because they are dangerous when they break free.

Raffa will most likely use a 4-4-2 but this is going to be one heck of a difficult game to win. Newcastle are always strong at home and have got in the good habit of winning.

Our away form this season hasn't been up to scratch with only 3 wins so in my own usual pessimistic way i'm going for a draw and hoping i'm wrong (again) :P

As for me, anything will do as long as 3 points is in our bag! Good Luck, boys. Just can’t wait the match with Everton or the BS. Kill them all, Let God sort them out !

For me, 3 points against newcastle is much more important than the chelsea game.
