Liverpool v marseille - Reaction to 0:1

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby red37 » Wed Oct 03, 2007 9:41 pm

Reactions and thoughts on tonights disappointing game in here please. Credit to Marseille - they deserved it. End of story. But how poor a Liverpool performance was that? No urgency, no fluidity, no creativity and most worrying of all, an apparant lack of enthusiasm from virtually every quarter. Not good enough (Not terminal yet) in Europe's premier competition this season.... But to say there is anything even remotely resembling a cohesive, efficient unit bedecked in the red of this famous club after that showing tonight - would be a poorly derived observation to say the least. Heck of a lot more questions posed here than the answers we were expecting to see delivered.

jeez...what an awful performance! Rafa needs to go back to the drawing board and fast.  Our midfield didn't show up today and our left flank was a joke.  We should have lost 2 or 3-0

RB got it wrong once again. i just wonder, we have yanks owning the club. yanks like winners and seeing the best players. wonder what they think to RB's rotation and constent excuses. And all this fitness rubbish and rotation pays at the end of the season nonsense.

Yeh very dissapointing, and credit to marsielle really.

I can't argue much about today's game, we were cr@p, every bloody player, especially sissoko who was horrible.

Awful game.

We played a weakened team. Why? Because Alonso is injured, Mascherano has played 3 games in a week, and Liverpool have an important match in Saturday.

But it's not just the selection, it's aswell that it was a bad game in the concentration camp. Sissoko made mistakes, Reina made a serious mistake that almost costed a goal, even Carraguer slipped. Crouch was caught off side in a set pieces situation, and Torres didn't score in a glorious chance with the goalie out of position. Should have done better.

Admitted the awful game, I must say I have confidence in this team, in this crowd and that we'll win on saturday and we'll make it through the CL group.

I'd be ready to bet some beers on that.

How about giving a warning before closing the match thread Red37? Might save people writing a long post then losing it. Not that mine was worth that much but..........

What is the logic behind playing someone like Leto?

win the league.  no chance.  we lack real quality,  creativity and imagination.  Rafa doesnt like to attack.  we get so many men behind the ball and can not hit sides on the break.  I thought rafa might have changed this season to a more expansive game but he just doesnt have it in him.

Did anyone see Dida get stretchered off after a fan tapped him on the shoulder.  what a joke.  he goes down like he got hit by mike tyson and then gets an icepack and stretchered off.  Celtic will get hammered by uefa but dida is a disgrace!!

we didnt use the wings, and our center mid was :censored:, might as well played 4 random youths in midfield, at least they would of tried to impress. We need alonso, we need agger, we need to play :censored: football

To be fair to the mods, even with the warning you might catch someone writing a long rant. I *think* that if you click the back button of the browser you'll still will be able to copy the text you wrote and paste it here.
