As mentioned in the Spanish thread perhaps Real Madrid and Barcelona sound more frightening than Sevilla, but I'd like to face them, especially Real Madrid for the extra dosis of morbidity it would have to eliminate them after Rafa rejecting the job there.

I'd preffer these rather than Sevilla because in their grounds they have the weight of their reputation and they seek you up in the pitch, and playing the counter against advanced defences we're lethal, as shown today and shown in Barcelona yesteryear.

Sevilla's football proposal would be more similar to ours, and that draw would be a tough one, and without glamour and big name the other Spanish teams have.

Any Italian team should be avoided if possible, I don't like them.

Needless to say both my money and my heart would be red if we  faced the Spaniards. I really do trust Rafa and the lads.

not much he just said something about getting on with the job and the owners and rafa get on with what they need to talk about and the team keep their mind on the game.

but they did just ask JC about the ownewrs and manage ....he just said the same thing so stevie might have been asked it before going on air.

AC Milan would be good, weve faced them in finals, 2 legs would be very interesting.

good win. how good is the understanding between harry and torres. riise had another shocker in my opinion and on sunday should be replaced with arbeloa and bring in finnan on the right. other than that keep the same team

I think torres links well with anyone in the forward line, his overall play with regards to movement and getting forward and link up play is outstanding.

Completely professional job tonight.  Killed the game off inside 12 minutes, took their crowd out of and then just kept harrying them to keep them off balance.

Torres showed us yet again why he's the striker we've been waiting for...what a shimmy in the box!  Kewell was outstanding, Kuyt had a strong game, Sami was immense and, credit where credit is due: Riise didn't put a foot wrong (except for his free kick :D ).  I'm relieved we made it look so easy, I'm more relieved that there was no hang-over from Saturday and I'm even more relieved that Mascherano seems okay and that no one else seemed to pick up an injury.

Let's hope we can carry this form into Sunday and, yes, for the record, I think we should play the exact same team against the Mancs! :nod

Yes he was >

A) lakes is blind

B) Liverpool gat a great result and there is no other bad thing to report  :Oo:

By the way, superb performance, AND massive credit from all of the players. Torres is unbeliable, gets better every game.
Loads of points to make but am a little bevvied.
First one Dirk Kuyt, he has been criticised and he has been poor but i have personally always felt that he was better than people were giving him credit for. Today (nothing to do with his goal) i thought he was brilliant, he defended corners linked well with Torres and was generally a pain in the erse to play against.
I prefer Crouch and think in general he is more of a goal threat but today think that Kuyt proved that he is by far better than we have previously seen.

More to come later !

I agree, what did Riise do wrong? Thought he put in his most solid defensive display in a while, i have no complaints with Riise's performance tonight.

I thought Crouch had a stinker as well. Oh sorry I thought we was just bashing players for the hell of it !
