Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Yeah L-Type, kind of frustrated and just had to spit it out. Although its an old problem but its still not being resolved. I really like to know what really going on inside. No one is saying anything publicly. Are they divided or simply not interested in playing?? I will try to keep my heads up high but its really frustrated, you know. I really mean frustrated......really frustrated, really frustrated.... (Man, sounding like the guy in the movie "aviator")  :p

how on earth do you know what Rafa is thinking?

you just come out with a statement like that based on RUMOURS, i'll say it again so you can understand, RUMOURS in the press.

Was my first home game of the season last night and it was a pretty depressing drive back down the M6 last night. Blackburn parked the bus in front of goal and we simply didn't have the imagination to break them down. We really miss Xabis' fluid passing in games like this.

One positive from the game was young Warnock. Full of commitment, crunching tackles and a few tasty cross-field balls. I hope Rafa gives him the nod over Traore for the rest of the season and encourages the lad to get more invlolved in attcking play.

Rafa is going nowhere

Some stories are so ridiculous that you should at least have the intelligence to be able to tell that they're just paper talk

New to the board, and an American to boot....but my loyalty is with Liverpool.  Unfortunately, that's resulted in having to either A) slip away from work in the middle of the afternoon for a midweek night game (like yesterday) or B) wake up waaaaay too early on a Saturday while hung over just to watch the Reds roar on to victory....small price to pay.

Anyway, my question is this, and I'm sure it's already been asked, but I would like to know anyway: why on EARTH didn't they start Riise?  It seemed like the instant he rejoined the 11 on the pitch he immediately put a spark in the offense!  Granted, I like Smicer just fine, but Riise has been born anew in the Rafalution, so why not let him continue on his scoring ways?

Just my $0.02,

wecome to the forum mate, to answer your riise question i think he`s played more games than any other player in our squad this season and maybe rafa was taking a opportunity to rest him before the derby on sunday.thats my take on the situation anyway. i agree with your observations, when he came on he definatley gave us some impetus, so 2 cents well spent.

Alright, I guess I see your point there.

Also, I went back and read the online game commentary (which was obviously being done by a Liverpudlian) and the commentator was extremely critical of Milan Baros.  He even went so far as to say that "he can only coast on his Euro 2004 performance for so long."  What do you guys think?  At this point, it almost looks like the smart move would be to sell El Hadji Diouf and Milan Baros for some serious bank and make some aggressive moves in the offseason with the acquired funds.  Fact of the matter is this: we need a consistent (read: uninjured) strike force.  Our defense is good, Scott Carson will mature into a solid stopper, and the midfield is showing promise.  All we need to do is FINISH.

PS - I wore my L'pool jersey for halloween (added a black eye and some blood coming out of the corner of my mouth - instant soccer hooligan) and got great pleasure from going into an Irish joint here in Charlotte, NC full of Man U fans (the staff, mainly :D )
