Arsenal are on fire at the moment.

But I'm hoping that their bubble will burst at Anfield. After all, in the league, we've got a pretty good record against them at home in the last 3 years.
3 wins out of 3..... Long may this continue.

Heres hoping for a 4 out of 4 come this weekend.

C'mon you red men.... time to put the disaster against the turks behind us.

Ive not long got back from Istanbul and i have made some of my comments regarding the state of the reds in that thread didnt see this one :( For me it would be Stevie out on the right with Xavi and Masher in the middle maybe then we can even have a hope of beating Arsenal .I do live in hope

We need to keep possesion obvously against Arsenal who play like Brazil.

Reina
Finnan  JC  Agger???  Arbeloa

Pennant  Gerrard  Alonso  Benayoun

            Torres  Kuyt

They will use the ball intelligently, Pennant will exploit the wings becasue Arsenal tend to play through the middle as there passing game suggests.

Kuyt and Torres will give us a good goal threat and keep there defence occupied. And I think Kuyt is a similar player to Luca Toni, powerful centre forward with good positional sense. When he first came here he was very good in the box but he has been played out of position sice then. In the box he will cause havoc! Just needs to play there. It annoys me that for someone who is obviously very good in the boz he gets played in a midfield role. We need to go at them, we have a very potent attack when we want to so lets use it intelligently.

:kungfu:

P.S. Rafa should not be 'let go' anyone thinking that is a fool simple as. If he went, you think its bad now? ha!

GK - Reina
DR - Finnan
DL - Arbeloa
DC - Carragher
DC - Hyypia
MC- Sissoko
MC - Mascherano
MR - Gerrard
ML - Riise
FC - Crouch
FC - Babel

Why not try Babel up front with Crouch? nothing else has worked so far. Mascherano and Sissoko in midfield simply because they both know how to tackle and we will need that against Arsenal and stop there flowing football. Gerrard on the right can create the chances and also score himself. And Hyypia simply because I dont think Agger will be fit enough to face Arsenal.

This will be very hard, and may even at this early stage be the defining game of the season - get a result and the confidence will rise and the team will start to come together; get a beating and it will be very hard to come back.
As long as we approach the game with the right attitude, play our best side and move the ball around we will get a result.

i think we'll get a result but it will be achieved by rafa's tactic's not us being the best team, have a feeling due to recent results he will shut up shop and look to pinch it (maybe a draw)

I hope Torres could be fit for this game. Any reliable news on his recovery? ???
