Playing with Gerrard as a right midfielder, and having a striker like Torres or a Luis Garcia in the left, but not truly playing a specific winger role, and roaming quite much everywhere, inside the box, in the other wing. The left back is fixed back and the holding midfielder covers the "false winger's" back.

Aragones has used Torres that way several times., it's like a 4-4-2 that becomes a 4-3-3 often.

i have just heard rafa has gone really radical and is playing a 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1  formation, lets hope it works, he said he doesnt need any width

Sounds a little complicated. Would be a little worried if we played like that as unfamiliarity with the required roles could wreck havoc with our shape.....
