Exit Michael Owen 8 million, enter Fernando Morientes 9 million.....um no......the direction of the finances and the talent appear to be contradictory imo.  ???

i believe it was 9 million EUROS - at todays excahnge rate thats about 6.3 million pounds. payable a bit now a bit later, a bit if he's really really good etc etc.

if the exchange rate improves tomorrow we'll have got him for even less!

:D

Allowing Owen to continue so far without signing a new contract is enough cause to become a laughing stock. I believe the Marx brothers couldve handled the negotiations better. The lad was worth at least three times what we sold him for imo.
Anyway, 6 million "pounds" for Morientes is a more accurate and fair valuation. Apologies for my currency conversion limitations.

We don't know what happened actually, how many times did Owen say that he was close to signing a new contract? We gave him the time and at the end his ambitions lead him to Real Madrid.

Hey guys! I´ve reading this forum for the first time just to see how u think about ur new star signing. I´m from Spain and I support Real Madrid...and I´m from Toledo, the town where el Moro comes from(though hes not really born here). I wanna congratulate u all for ur election...rely Rafa cos (though hes been the boss for our main enemy Valencia last years)Im sure hes gonna build up a strong team, hes definitely a quite better coach than Mourinho is (****** him, grrrr). And...Ive been reading some fears abour Moro´s physical state...dont care about that...he´s fine, hes never had a serious injury...the only trouble could be to make him reach the competition rythm (Reyes, being a fast player, told that he was suffering at the beginning of his career in Uk due to the pace of game there) but Im sure he gonna score loads for u. Keep in mind that Moro is one of the most admired player all over Spain, not just for Real supporters as me, and is gonna be our second team from now on lol. Enjoy him!!

Well, Owen is working very well and hes winning the admiration he deserves little by little...last match he played he was the most supported by the audience and the coach (Garcia Remon, former one) was hardly criticized for his decission. U know, Real is full of superstars and some supporters are a bit angry with some of them due to their behaviour outside the pitch...too much fun for a footballer maybe lol, and owe is just the opposite: he seems a shy hard working guy...that hooks people here, lets see what happen with the new boss. As for the rest, we have only been able to read about Woodgate cos, as u know is injured forever as it seems, but everybody says hes a great signing for our defence line. And for Becks...well...I think u all know who is him, for me, hes one of the most overvalued player in the world, I dunno how many people in UK consider he is the best english player, having Gerrard or Scholes for instance (sorry for the second one but I love his game lol).
