I just hope the guy settles in quick, i just hope he doesnt start against Manchester United, he will need time to adapt and that is a must win game for us so every player must be on top form that day

Does anyone know the final fee we paid for Morientes? Ive have heard it was around 9 million pounds. If this is so, we must be the laughing stock of Europe. Exit Michael Owen 8 million, enter Fernando Morientes 9 million.....um no......the direction of the finances and the talent appear to be contradictory imo.

I think you've have become the laughing stock of the day.

We got 8 million pounds plus Antonio Nunez who was valued 3-5 million by Real Madrid. So do the math:

8 + 5 = 13 million max.
8 + 3 = 11 million min.

Considering that Owen was almost out of contract, 11-13 million is not bad at all. So no we are not the laughing stock of Europe as we couldn't had recieved anymore for Owen because he was almost out of contract.
