It's strange the Beeb is not accurate, they use to be.

No, if something serious happened with Alonso, There would be an enormous wind up here. According to what I read, he just didn't train for precaution.

How do you say in English when you're not actually injured but you have some pain in that muscle, and although you could risk, it's better to stop the activity a couple of days? :D I don't find the word for that.

Not counting with Alonso would be a disaster. Although many pundits already realised that he's miles better than Albelda (and even defends better now), most of the crowd are unaware of how important he'll be (IMHO) for Spanish midfield. Thet're unaware due to that yes, they hear about Liverpool and good runs of Liverpool, but they aren't impacted because they don't watch the games in TV regularly.

On a funny note, Luis Garcia said a couple of days ago, and it was highlighted (the context of the interview was lighthearted - funny - personal) :

"Gerrard uses to tell me that I score the hardest goals and I miss the sitters".

Erm, I've realised right now that something that sounds funny or impacting in my language, in english seems dull .

:D

And when he was asked of what the team mates of Liverpool think about Spanish Squad he said that

"They tell me that we always fancy with our football, but then we always underachieve".

Not that the quotes are interesting (we all know that) but it's a proof that the interest Liverpool arises in Spain nowadays , it's in Fashion again. We are mentioned often.

The word you are looking for is rest. :)

Alonso needs to rest for a few days to prevent the injury getting worse. :p

Gerrard is correct about Luis Garcia. The chances he missed in the semi were shocking, the goal he scored was also. :D

Thanks Bad Bob :)

I must add something to my previous post.

And because most of the crowd in Spain are clueless about football.

Give thanks to God that many of you do not understand Spanish, because if Good Bobby or LeonMc read some game reviews and comments in the Spanish forums after a game, they'd had a heart attack.

I guess that many of  my countrymates around here will disagree, but here we have too many Marca buyer, Big team supporter (that doesn't go to the stadium) and has no clue about football.
