Before the game, I was at the local's pub downing a couple of pints, everyone was talking about a Chelsea win but I knew deep down in my heart Liverpool will emerge victorious.
Here is why...
Chelsea is a team that cannot play without the ball. Their off the ball movement has been slow and unsteady at times. Every time they are victorious, they are always the side that has the majority of the possession.
But RB has always given JM plenty of problems the four times both clubs had met this season. We enjoyed superior possession over the blues and the Blues were frustrated and the only thing we missing was a win.
JM was hopping we would approach this game like how we did against Juve in the first leg of the quarter because counter attacking is Chelsea's forte. And over the media, RB certainly won the front, giving Chelsea the false impression that we are going to adopt an attacking line tactics.
In Europe, We are a totally different side. We will battle for every ball. Although we are without the suspended Alonso, Hamman and Biscan were outstanding, fighting alongside Gerrard. The battle of the midfield was over in the first half. It was obvious that Frank Lampard was simply too tired and so was John Terry the pillar of their defense, both had played more than 100 matches this season.
If Jose Mourinho is not into soccer, most likely he will be a motivational speaker. Tactically, he is not as solid as RB. In short, he is just full of ******. Perhaps he runs out of words to bad mouth, that’s why we won.
Before the match, he said in an interview that the home fans will not decide the game because we are not playing. And in the end, he got to eat his words. Obviously he has no ideal of our history. We were simply dying to taunt Mourinho and his players. And hopefully we had taught him a lesson in football that is to never underestimate the home fans.
