Liverpool bid for Benitez.

Valencia coach Rafael Benitez could be on his way to Liverpool as Gerard Houllier's successor after he revealed the reds have approached his agent.

Benitez led his side to the league title and Uefa cup this season and has reportedly been offered an 8million pound deal at Anfield.

He said: "Anyone would love to manage Liverpool. They have spoken to my agent and, although I'm happy where i am, Liverpool is one club i'd leave for."

He's the only man for the job. He's proven himself with Valencia and i'm sure he's exactly what we need. Tactically he's very clever and i think under his guidence building on what Houllier has acheived we'll start going in the right direction again.

Look, am not gonna keep saying this, he is THE MAN for the job. The only other one i'd be reasonabley happy to have is Mourinho.

Not that overated headless chicken O'Neil. Not Curbishley, not McLaren, not Allardyce.

i just wish the board would say something. we don't know what's happening with the manager, we don't know what's happening with the investment. what's going on?

just think of the decent threads we could start on here if anything was concluded. :)  :p

Another supporting news, guys:

Valencia manager Rafael Benitez may well be Liverpool bound as Valencia are quietly seeking out his replacement.

With Benitez confirming that Liverpool are one of the few sides capable of luring him from Valencia the Spanish side are looking to the past to replace him.

"Liverpool is one of those clubs that any coach always dreams about being able to manage," Benitez is quoted as saying.

"I have been at Anfield several times as a rival coach and the atmosphere is wonderful.

"They have spoken to my agent Manuel Garcia Quilun to find out more about my situation.

"I am happy in Valencia and I would only leave the club for a great European side and Liverpool is one of those."

If Benitez does go to Anfield his replacement is expected to be one of the most popular Valencia managers of recent times- Claudio Ranieri

Monaco is skint with 50 million debts and a stadium which can only pack in around 18,000. How can they afford to buy these 2 misfits? Unless Houllier, Diouf and Biscan agree to work for peanuts...
