LIVERPOOL 3 - 1 ASTON VILLA - ALL POST MATCH REACTION HERE PLEASE

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby RichardLFC1 » Thu Oct 26, 2006 9:57 am

Were sitting 11th in the table and really need to put a winning streak on. The win in the carling cup should give our boys some confidence. However out of the whole Premiership only 1 team has not been beaten and that is Villa. Martin oneil is doing a great job over there so they will be hard to beat but if we can play football the liverpool way we should have a win.

We havent kept a single clean sheet this season and even when we was 3-0 up against reading we conceeded then we went 4-1 up and conceded another 2. Although not all of the goals this year has been his fault i feel that we should give Dudek a starting position saturday.

Fowler who has i think played 2 this year and has scored 2. 1 against sheffield united and another against reading, so should he get a staring place ?

My team for the game

Dudek

Finnan
Carragher
Hyypia
Riise

Pennant
Gerrard
Sissoko
Gonzales

Kuyt
Fowler     2-0 Liverpool Kuyt, Gerrard

I'm not too sure on the injury situation at the moment - so may change my team by Saturday morning. As I understand it: bellers and aurelio are injured but i dont know how long for

                    Reina

Finnan   Carragher    Hyypia    Riise

                         Alonso
Gerrard      Sissoko             Gonzales

                         Crouch
                 Kuyt

Subs:
Martin
Agger
Pennant
Fowler
Garcia

- but thats assuming bellamy and aurelio are unfit.

Er, Newcast;e... Spurs?

If we can't beat Blackburn at home then we could very well struggle against Villa.

I'm getting weary of this season already.

I think he should continue with the Fowler/Crouch partnership. Fowler clearly thrives on home games, maybe that will be his role from now on. Rafa has already said he won't stop playing Gerrard on the right, so that is clear.

Therefore

                        Reina

Finnan     Carragher     Agger     Warnock

  Gerrard      Alonso     Sissoko     Riise

                 Crouch     Fowler

Although nowadays who know who Rafa will play! After seeing the highlights from last night I think its clear that Riise and Agger will start. I think Fowler deserves a chance to start a home game.

i have to be honest

of course i love would for nothing more than us to go on a 10 win winning streak

but i think villa will beat us cause at the moment our top players are lacking form and confidence

and no1 scores goals against villa (one is the best they manage), they are tight, organised, make the game very dull but get results

i cant see us keeping a clean sheet with reina in this form (new name is "the bird" cause he flaps alot)

Liverpool and Robbie usually do well against Villa and I cant see it being any different this time.  A hard fought 3 -1 win. If Gerrard doesnt play (for whatever reason) Pennant or Garcia to take his place.

Team :-

                                             Reina
Finnan                Agger                         Hyypia            Riise

Gerrard                        Alonso        Sissoko               Gonzales

                             Kuyt             Fowler

I think Carra is injured and needs time to recover fully.

Well, seen as everyone else is putting up their preffered line-up and hobo (aka-Oasis) is looking to stir things up, I'll go for ..........

                                    Reina

Finnan  Hyypia (if Carra not inj) Agger  Riise

             Pennant    Gerrard     Alonso     Gonzalez

                             Crouch     Kuyt.

I'd also play Robbie at some point whether we're winning losing or drawing he should get a game IMO.!

Carra was on the bench last night and hyypia wanst, so i took that as carra being fit enough to play if we needed him.

Personally, I would like to see agger step up and form a partnership with carra, but i left him out of my starting line-up above purely on the selection for last nights game. Hyypia and carra were rested and agger played the full 94 minutes. I would of thought this was done for a reason: so carra-hyypia would be the partnership on sat.
