Couple of points as follow ons from the fact it was a superb display. Firstly, there's no wonder Madrid are looking enviously at Rafa as a potential manager. That's the fifth time in succession that they've not managed to get past the quarter finals, and for a club of their size it's a poor effort. IMHo it's quite simply because they haven't got the players. They actually played OK once the intensity dropped, stringing some nice passing movements together. Wjhile the game was anywhere near simmering point though, they simply couldn't handle it or us.

Secondly, regardless of what ever any of us think of Rafa, I'd rather have him any day of the week than Juande Ramos. Too much baby food and all that nonsense.

I agree on the diagnostic of what happened but not in that they don't have the players. They have a lot of quality.

But we were absolutelly superior as a team. When a team plays football the way Liverpool plays, it doesn't matter their sub is named Van der Vaart and your sub Spearing.

It was the most humilliating defeat I remember of Real Madrid since the 5-1 of Gullit's Milan.

Liverpool made yet another night that will be remembered a decade later.

Got to agree with Nanny on Mascha, he was first rate tonight, he looked like he was goin to win the ball every time he got close to a Real player tonight. Top quality from the lad, his celebration when Doss scored was class

Oh feck it ive gotta say it again Masherano what a player , he honestly left me breathless at times with his passion an commitment, Ive waited years for a player like him in our midfield, Simply outstanding,

He was awesome tonight wasn't he? But that's the first time this season that he's put in a perfomance to match that of last seasons heroics. Torres the same. I only wish that they can keep it up for the rest of the season.

p!ssed my sides at Masch's celebration, but I was screaming at him to stfu when he got booked, I thought he was going to get a red card for sure.

Still not sure who I would have as m.o.t.m. I thought Torres in the first half was out of this world, and showed everyone just how good he really is, but over the full game I though Masch was outstanding, as were Gerrard and Alonso.

In the first half an hour Torres looked like he had just escaped. at one point he was tracking back on Ramos near there corner flag .he was unbelievable.
