and that is woefully embarrassing to 'accept' for this clubs reputation. one its deserved through hard, honest endeavor! who the   f.uck represents it on the pitch and in the running of it. the fact that the football world is opening their gobs, (whether you think they have the right or not). Provides enough of a 'clue' as to the urgency to do something about it. Wtf does it matter that 'we' know about it-- Pride man! that is vital to any project - Honest ball breaking Pride..

At one time if Liverpool had a bad result or two, teams used to be worried expecting our players to react to the poor results by going out and thrashing some team.  The only reaction from our players now seems to be a shrug.

how often (in the past) did you used to hear the phrase 'Expect a Liverpool Backlash ?   many ,many times, when the sh1t had hit the fan...and it usually happened too.

Whatever team Rafa plays i just hope for a win, as already mentioned it will be a confidence booster and our players need that very much. So come on lads get a wee win and a few smiles.

We are good at home mate, its only away we are having problems, so I think 3 - 0 to Liverpool is more likely.

Obviously you know more about our club than we do. Our home form isn't the problem, it's away from home in the Premiership.

there's going to be countless other 'Press cuttings' and other such reports to consign to the bin this week (hopefully not all ignored) but here's one that can be stuck up on the dressing room wall tomorrow morning Rafa:-  from Jan Kromkamp of all authorities:

"We know how to get at Liverpool. They have plenty of weaknesses, They often revert to kicking long ugly balls up to Peter Crouch.The manager's tactics change as soon as you frustrate his players and that is what we will be aiming to do on Wednesday.

"They have weaknesses in several places, especially in the gap between defence and midfield, and also at centre back.

"In one-on-ones, the two in the middle of defence are very good, but they cannot contribute to Liverpool's build up play. So we will focus on that. If you block them from deep they soon lose their rhythm and start playing those long balls up to Crouch."

got a point though hasnt he....amongst many others that need addressing. There's much work to be done, starting at Melwood tomorrow.

We don't have to hit it long to Crouch, we haven't done that much this season. In fact we've hit it long more to Bellamy than we have to Crouch which doesn't make sense.

He's quite capable of recieving balls on the ground and going from there.

yes, the gala fans were amusing, but it was anything but hell for us. It was fecking cold outthere, serious.

But I don't think that your attack is good enough to score, the only thing  I really fear are the distance shots from especially Gerrard.

And now we have Farfan and Cocu back, I think we're better than L'pool. anyway, we'll see it on wednesday

Crouch and Garcia have 7 goals between them, who are more than capable of scoring in Europe. That's not including Kuyt or Bellamy.

I ment that our defence is playing really well, with alex, salcido, portugese talent da costa, and even kromkamp is playing well. But Alex is out best defender, he is amazingly strong and has a furious shot, he scored a free kick yesterday.

But than again, your defenders are no pussy's either I must say

We don't have to hit it long to Crouch, we haven't done that much this season. In fact we've hit it long more to Bellamy than we have to Crouch which doesn't make sense.

He's quite capable of recieving balls on the ground and going from there.

Fully agree there, Crouch is one of the best, where he is played in to feet. (its his aerial 'attacking' ability (bizarrely) that is at a deficiency). Although his 'hold up' play is fantastic and with him there have been reaped rewards. but as ive said in another thread. the way in which Bellamy is made use of while playing international football for his country, is far more effective and purposeful as opposed to these 'hopeful' punts in his general direction adopted for his clubs style of play. Most defenders will tower over him where a ball is floated over the shoulder and intercept it most of the time. Only Crouch has the edge there. though both Crouch and Bellamy have better options through the use of the ball on the ground. Crouch with his back to the play and Bellamy with his running onto it down the lines or through the middle.  Anyway, like youve said, there has been less misuse of the long ball this season. (its a pity the defence havn't caught on yet)
