Lfc to mufc - Question

Just heard someone introduced on the radio as a player who left LFC to join the manc's, for circa £2m, 15 years ago today. didn't catch his name. Anyone remember this one ?  :alien:

2 mill in the 1989 season was a fair bit so he must have been someone recognised ???

No Liverpool player has EVER been transferred to MUFC directly. You need a few LFC history books mate  :D
