Lets have some proper songs! - Scouse wit vs "urghhh campione"

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Right, here's a thread for all those of you who, like me, cannot stand the fact that our beloved Kop will ever be singing such an awful old Manure/Milan song as "Oooh Campione, Campione". It just reeks of the gloryhunting fans of those clubs. So, lets see some good ol' Scouse wit and come up with new/modified songs. The only requirement is a simple, memorable tune and some fitting lyrics.

Guess I'll throw my hat into the ring first then;

Here's to you, FC Kosiche
[to the tune of the chorus of Mrs. Robinson]

Here's to you, FC Kosiche
The Kopites love you more than you will know (woo hoo hoo)
God bless you please, you were so easy
TheKopites hold a place for those we play,
(Hey, hey, hey. Hey, hey, hey!)

And here's to you Paris Saint Germain
Bottles o' wine, just a pound a throw (wo ho ho)
God bless you please Dynamo Kiev
Expen-sive but the trip was worth the pay,
(Wah-hey, hey!)

Allez allez les vertes Etienne,
Moenchengladbach, Bruges we miss you so (you ho ho)
Where are you now Polands' Widzew Lodz?
The teams Bob's lads flew from Speke to play.
(Allez Allez. Allez Allez!)

Joe Fagan and his Mighty Reds
Strode int' Roma's Lion's den, (way back then)
But we had Brucie and his wobbly legs
And smokin' Joe brought ol' Big Ears back from home,
(Back from Rome!)

tara for now Andriy Shevchenko
at least the mighty Milan gave it a go (wo ho ho)
God Bless you please Paolo Maldini
Thought you 'ad the cup but it weren't to be,
(We beat the Rossineri!)

So here we go, on the road once more!
Maybe even our 'arry Kewell might sco-o-ore (his form's poor!)
God bless you please good ol' Djimi
We remember when you gave away that penalty
(...needlessly!)

And here's to you, Slovan Liberec
The Merseymen love you more than you will know! (wo ho ho!)
God bless you please, Rapid Bucharest
The Kop holds a place for those we play,
(Hey, hey, hey!)
(Way, hey, Hey!!)

So!~

Where have you gone, Dynamo Dresden?
the chanting Reds of Anfield Road remember you (you hoo hoo)
And we'll sing You'll Never Walk Alone
As Europe falls to Liverpool again
(to our Redmen, to our Redmen!)

I took the liberty to add about half a dozen verses to it because it only had a couple when I heard it. It's a song that's started a few times on the big European nights amongst a couple of people but never takes off. We should get it going again because it's a simple tune with good lyrics and has got the potential to be a classic! What do you say? :kungfu:

Why Can't you put it in the goal? to the "why dont we do it  in the road" tune.

"Day in the life" could possibly be a good song maybe a little too slow.

Know its not a beatles song but John Denver's "Country Roads" always striked me as a great song to sing as loud as possible while a little drunk with all my mates and that is despite the fact that i HATE West Virginia.

Almost heaven, west virginia
Blue ridge mountains, shenandoah river
Life is old there, older than the trees
Younger than the mountains, blowing like a breeze

Country roads, take me home
To the place, I be-long
West virginia, mountain momma
Take me home, country roads

All my memries, gather round her
Miners lady, stranger to blue water
Dark and dusty, painted on the sky
Misty taste of moonshine, teardrop in my eye

If anybody could fit lyrics to that song it would be awseome

'Team of Carraghers' is the closest.

I stand to be corrected, but I think you will find the Kop were singing this song before the Mancs, possibly after the 1984 victory over Roma. The Mancs started after they beat Juve a few years back.,even then getting the words wrong "Championey"

Agree its a tw@t of a song though.

Campione relates to Roma.

Championey is a bast.ardised MAnc saying used to celebrate them being champions.

Campione Liverpool was first aired at Roma in 84 the European cup final.

The new song, Oooooh Campione, the one and only (etc...) is excellent and will prove to be a big hit, whithout a doubt.

All football fans use the same tunes to word songs for thier clubs, you will never get away from that.

One time, I saw a man looking at me, yes, with his eyes. And then, he, he picked up a tube. And he looked, in the tube, and he made the moon big, inside the tube. The moon big inside a tube! Waahaha... Aaah. Telescope.
